Ramadan Fest BC is a festival in Surrey celebrating the Muslim month of fasting. It features halal foods, market vendors, and other activities at night.
Ramadan is the ninth month in the Islamic calendar. It’s also a holy month of fasting and communal prayer. It’s a time when Muslims around the world fast from dawn until sunset. After sunset they can feast, which is why Ramadan Fest BC takes place from early evening until the wee hours of the morning.
Ramadan Fest BC
Ramadan Fest is one of the largest Ramadan celebrations in British Columbia. The festival brings together food vendors, cultural shopping, community gatherings and spiritual reflection in a lively evening marketplace atmosphere. Inspired by the traditions of Ramadan, the event combines halal cuisine, family-friendly activities and a welcoming space for people of all backgrounds to experience the culture and spirit of the holy month. Visitors can explore international food stalls, browse artisan products like Eid gifts, enjoy festive lights and spend time with friends and family.
When and Where
Ramadan is the ninth month in the Islamic calendar. It takes place between February and April, depending on the year. In 2026, Ramada (the holy month, not the festival in Surrey) runs from February 17th until March 19th.
In 2026 Ramadan Fest BC, the festival, takes place from March 5th to March 8th at the Cloverdale Fairgrounds in Surrey, primarily in the Agriplex building. The festival runs daily from 5:00 pm until 3:00 am. As many as 50,000 people attend the event over the four nights.
There are two main time periods during the event. They are the Iftar session, where the word “Iftar” refers to the daily, fast-breaking meal eaten by Muslims at night. The second part of the evening is the Suhoor session, where “Suhoor” refers to the early morning, pre-dawn meal eaten by Muslims before their fasting resumes the next day.
The Iftar session at Ramadan Fest BC runs from approximately 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm. It’s a time for feasting! The Suhoor session, meanwhile, runs from around 9:30 pm until 3:00 am and celebrates the late-night energy of Ramadan with more food, shopping and community activities. Attendees can enter anytime within their selected time slot.
