Glenda’s Christmas Cottage is a lovely, seasonal, boutique store in rural Abbotsford. It’s full of all kinds of winter holiday collectible decorations.

Open from late October until just before Christmas, the store is where you’ll find delightful ornaments, Dicken’s Villages, and a wide variety of other classy Christmas treasures from around the world. More than just a store, for many it’s an attraction destination, especially on days when it hosts Special Events, like Santa in the Country in November.

Originally the shop was a horse farm and u-pick Christmas tree market. Since then, Glenda’s Christmas Cottage has been in the seasonal celebration business for decades. In 2025 the shop celebrates its 37th anniversary!

Glenda’s Christmas Store & Events in 2025

Glenda’s Christmas Cottage is a small, family-run retailer of Christmas decorations in Abbotsford. Glenda’s husband and daughter operate the shop. Many customers return year after year and personally know the shop’s staff.

Established in an old milk house, the cottage offers a rustic and authentic feeling of Christmas on the farm. Thanks to public support, the little shop has weathered the years and stands as, arguably, the most classic of Christmas shops in the Lower Mainland.

In 2025 Glenda’s Christmas Cottage opened on October 28th and has special events regularly throughout the Christmas season. The shop is open almost every day except Mondays up until December 23rd. They are normally open from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm. On Fridays, however, they are open until 8:00 pm.

At the cottage, they pride themselves on hospitality and being welcoming. Glenda’s offers a hot, spiced apple juice at the door which is purchasable in-house. They also offer the recipe for the spice mix as well as other homemade recipes.

Glenda’s Christmas Cottage is a small, family-run business. If you are looking for something collectible in particular, there is a good chance you’ll find it here. Go early in the season though if you can.

Store Location and Hours

Glenda’s Christmas Cottage is located in a rural neighbourhood at 4557 Mount Lehman Road in Abbotsford. It’s just a five-minute drive from the Highstreet Shopping Centre and Cineplex Abbotsford.

Glenda’s Christmas Cottage is open daily from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm except for Mondays when it’s closed and Fridays when it’s open until 8:00 pm.

Event List for 2025

Below is a list of the special events and activities hosted by the shop this year. They include the revealing of new Dickens Village pieces, a “Santa and the Grinch in the Country” event, a Christmas Mat Painting Night, a Tree Decorating Workshop, and a Macramé Ornament-Making Class. Dickens Village Reveal Night

Glenda’s Christmas Cottage puts on a display of the new Dickens Village pieces for this year. These Christmas Village decorations are a classic of seasonal decorating, and Glenda’s is among the first to be able to show off the new and retiring pieces of the collection.

In 2025 this event is on November 6th from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Admission is free with advanced registration.

Tree Decorating Workshop

Interested in a workshop to help choose the right ornaments and decoration placement? Glenda’s Christmas Cottage offers expert advice and a bonus 10% off coupon on tree trimmings for all participants.

This event takes place on November 21st from 6:30 until 8:00 pm and costs $20 with online registration.

Santa and the Grinch in the Country

On Saturday, November 22nd, Santa Claus appears at the shop. Children can sit on a haybale with St. Nick to take pictures and request their hearts’ deepest desires. Hot cocoa and popcorn bring the night together. Special for 2025, Santa is joined by the Grinch as well!

In 2025 the event happens from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm. Admission is free and you can just show up.

Christmas Mat Painting Night

Fashion your own festive creation on November 27th between 6:00 and 8:00 pm. As it is a craft event, participation requires registration on their website. It costs $60. At the event, participants have the chance to colour their very own holiday mat.

Macramé Ornament-Making Class

Glenda’s offers a hands-on macramé class twice in 2025. The staff demonstrate how to make two gnome ornaments to be used either as decorations on your own tree or as gifts.

This workshop is offered on December 3rd and 11th from 6:00 until 8:00 pm. Registration costs $45.
