Derby Reach Park in Langley

Derby Reach Regional Park is the home of the original Hudson’s Bay Company Fort Langley site. The preserved historic site is within the southern end of the park and can be accessed via the Houston Trail.

The park’s address is 21801 Allard Crescent in Langley. There are two parking lots for Derby Reach Park: one at the Edgewater Bar area and another in the historic area close to the Fort to Fort Trail entrance.

Interestingly, Derby Reach Park is one of the only regional parks in Metro Vancouver that allows overnight camping. Other amenities at the park include a reservable picnic shelter, washrooms and designated campfire rings.

Trails and Hiking

Derby Reach Regional Park is a network of trails in the Edgewater Bar section and the Historical section of the park. The trails there also connect with Langley’s Fort to Fort Trail, which leads down towards the town of Fort Langley. With minimal elevation gain, this park is perfect for a leisurely walk through nature.

The total trail length is around 8 km if you do a loop through Edgewater Bar and the Historic section. This ensures a nice long hike for visitors interested in that.

Dogs can go on the trails within Derby Reach Park so long as they are on leash. There is also an off-leash dog area on the west side of the Edgewater Bar area of the park.
