Langley’s Canadian Museum of Flight
The Canadian Museum of Flight is home to an impressive collection of British Columbian aircraft. There are many airplanes to explore from different parts of history and each has its own story to tell. While the museum is relatively small, it’s full of interesting artifacts that have been well-preserved or recreated.
Highlights of the museum include replica aircrafts from World War I up through the 1940s and beyond. There are replica Waco biplanes from 1930, a Hampden Bomber from 1942 and a variety of vintage fighter jets from later years.
The museum isn’t just limited to replicas though. Real airplanes in working condition are also on site. They include a Tiger Moth from 1940 and a Harvard from 1942. As an added bonus, folks are welcome to sit inside some of the aircraft for pictures.
There is also a museum gift shop. Products include clothing, art, books, scale models and more. Sales in the gift shop help fund the preservation and restoration of the museum’s artifacts.
