About Aberdeen Centre
Aberdeen Centre is a fairly large mall with over 150 stores including Japanese department store Daiso, more than one ginseng store, and a large number of Chinese and other Asian boutiques and specialty stores.
Typical stores include ones with names like Ginseng World, Luk Fook Jewellery, Osaka Optical, Pinku Japan The Store, Taiwan Kwong Leung Hin Dried Food, and Ten Fu Tea & Ginseng. Also, an especially popular store with children is Candyland! It’s a fairly popular mall with all kinds of interesting, exotic and Asian stores.
Where is Aberdeen Centre?
Aberdeen Centre is conveniently located at 4151 Hazelbridge Way in Richmond. It’s right by the Aberdeen SkyTrain Station which is just a 25-minute trip from downtown Vancouver along the Canada Line.
Aberdeen Mall Hours
Aberdeen Centre is open 365 days a year. Its regular hours are the following (as of January, 2025):
- 11:00 am until 7:00 pm on Mondays to Thursdays, as well as on Sundays and holidays
- 11:00 am until 8:00 pm on Fridays and Saturdays
Aberdeen Mall at Chinese New Year
Having lots of Asian stores and being popular with Chinese Vancouverites, Aberdeen Mall is understandably a great place to celebrate Lunar New Year.
A popular event during that time is the LNY Flower & Gift Fair. It happens every day during mall opening hours from January 23rd to 29th. There are vendors set up in special booths across the mall selling flowers and other nice gifts.

Tuesday, January 28th, 2025
“Countdown Night to Lunar New Year of the Snake” is the New Year’s Eve celebratory event at Aberdeen Mall. In 2025 it runs from 8:30 pm until 12:05 am. It’s a free event with live entertainment in the Central Atrium.
The activity schedule for 2025 is the following:
- Pre-Countdown Stage Show – from 8:30 pm to 10:00 pm.
- Personal Blessings from the Chinese God of Fortune – at 10:30 pm.
- Live Countdown with Fairchild Television – from 10:30 pm to 12:05 am.
- Chinese New Year Flower & Gift Fair – extended hours until 12:30 am.
Wednesday, January 29th, 2025
On the first day of the Year of the Snake there’s live entertainment at the mall starting at 11:00 am. The Golden Dragon and Lion Dance performance takes place in the outdoor courtyard.
Saturday, February 1st, 2025
Chinese New Year celebrations continue on the Saturday. Here’s what’s happening at Aberdeen Mall:
- Golden Dragon and Lion Dance – the traditional performance goes from store to store offering New Year’s blessings starting at 12:00 pm.
- Chinese New Year Flower & Gift Fair – takes place all day.
- Colors of Dance Academy – performances from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm.
- Vancouver Academy of Dance – performances from 4:00 pm until 5:00 pm.
Sunday, February 2nd, 2025
The festivities and entertainment continue on the Sunday at the following times:
- Vancouver Beauty Dance World – performances from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm.
- BC Chinese Music Association – performances from 3:30 pm until 4:30 pm.
- Chinese New Year Flower & Gift Fair – takes place all day.

Sunday, February 9th, 2025
The final day of celebrations at Aberdeen Mall features a fashion show presented by the Hanfu Culture Association. It begins at 1:00 pm and runs for about two hours.
