YVR Chill Out at Flight Path Park

YVR Chill Out is a free community event put on by the Vancouver International Airport at Richmond’s Larry Berg Flight Path Park in August each year.

The event features live entertainment, kid-friendly activities, chances to win prizes and community organization information stalls.

YVR Community Chill Out

YVR Chill Out last took place on Saturday, August 18th, from 11 am until 3 pm. The event did not take place in 2019.

In years when it does happen the event takes place at Larry Berg Flight Path Park which is on Russ Baker Way across the street from Richmond’s BCIT Aerospace campus which is located at 3800 Cessna Drive.

Tips and Advice

Below are some tips and suggestions to help you make the most out of your visit to YVR Chill Out.

TIP #1: Free parking is available across the street at the BCIT Aerospace Campus. There are also free shuttle busses from BCIT and the Templeton SkyTrain Station.

TIP #2: Larry Berg Park is just across the street from the BCIT Aerospace Campus. Russ Baker Way is a large busy road however, so you can’t just run across the street to the festival. You’ll either have to walk way down the road to the intersection and then back up the street to the park, all of which is at least half a kilometre in distance. Alternatively, you can wait for the complimentary shuttle bus that runs every few minutes.

TIP #3: If using GPS to find the venue, input BCIT’s 3800 Cessna Drive address. When we used our phone’s GPS and input “Larry Berg Flight Path Park” it just took us to YVR airport!

TIP #4: Don’t forget to enter the draw for free flights to an international YVR destination. In 2018 the grand prize was a trip for two to Mexico!
