Remembrance Day in Pitt Meadows
The 2025 Remembrance Day ceremony takes place at šxʷhék̓ʷnəs (Spirit Square), 11985 Harris Road. The march begins at 10:45 am and concludes at the cenotaph, where the main service happens until noon.
Community members can bring wreaths to the cenotaph before 10:00 am and collect them before it gets dark. Poppies are available by donation at City Hall starting October 27th, with proceeds supporting local veterans and their families.
A public reception follows the ceremony in the Recreation Centre lobby next to Spirit Square. There is no general seating. Reserved chairs are for veterans and those requiring accessible seating.
Drivers should expect temporary closures between Spirit Square and the Pitt Meadows Family Recreation Centre from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Flags at City facilities fly at half-mast from November 7th to November 12th, 2025, in honour of Veterans’ Week.

What to Expect
The morning includes a procession of veterans and officials, followed by the playing of “O Canada,” prayers, the Act of Remembrance, and the laying of wreaths. A two-minute silence happens at 11:00 am, marked by the Last Post and Reveille.
This annual service is one of the largest community gatherings in Pitt Meadows. It is a respectful and moving tribute to Canada’s veterans.
