Located an hour north of Vancouver, Squamish celebrates Canada Day on July 1st with a new Sk̲wx̲wú7mesh Squamish Together event in downtown.
In addition to the main Squamish Canada Day event below, the nearby Britannia Mine Museum also offers live music and other special activities on July 1st.
Canada Day Events in Squamish
In previous years, Canada Day celebrations in Squamish featured a parade, opening ceremony and other activities. However, a new event was held a couple of years ago and continued in 2024. In 2025, the event returned with more activities and community fun planned for all ages.
Sk̲wx̲wú7mesh Squamish Together features live music, cultural performances and food trucks. Last year there was also an art-themed market at Cleveland Avenue and Junction Park. It probably was there again in 2025, though exact details were to be confirmed. If the market did happen, you could expect to see all kinds of art, textiles and ceramics on sale.
The event typically features a kids’ zone as well. For adults, there’s a craft beer garden with various drinks available for purchase. The main festivities usually run from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, but there may be DJs playing tunes for a couple hours after that in the evening.
