Hoppy Heights at Capilano Suspension Bridge

Capilano Suspension Bridge is a popular place to check out on the North Shore. In fact, it’s one of the most visited attractions in all of Metro Vancouver. The park hosts various events throughout the year, including Love Lights in February, Canyon Frights in October for Halloween, and Canyon Lights during the Christmas season. In the spring of 2024, the attraction also offered the Hoppy Heights event for the first time, and it’s back again in 2026!

Hoppy Heights is an Easter-themed event that begins in the second half of March. It makes Capilano Suspension Bridge Park even more fun for children during the school Spring Break holidays. At the site there are playful Easter decorations and displays to see. Kids can also work on Echo Eagle’s Eggsploration activity. With that they get to search for Easter eggs scattered around the attraction and mark down their findings on paper. Children who complete the activity win a chocolate treat.

During the Spring Break and Easter season at the attraction, The Cliff House Restaurant has special, limited-time menu offerings. They include a Strawberry Easter Punch, a silky Green Pea Velouté, Braised Lamb Shank, a decadent Dark Chocolate Terrine, and a creamy Chocolate Bliss cocktail (the last of which is for adults only).

The spring event also offers beautiful sights to see. Of course, the park features a large suspension bridge over the Capilano River. There are also walking paths, an amazing Cliffwalk to experience, a couple of guided tour options. During Hoppy Heights there is also a colouring contest activity for children.

What to Expect

The Easter displays at Capilano Bridge are a nice addition to the attraction during the school Spring Break and Easter seasons. It’s not the same as other seasonal events at the park, however. It’s much more low key.

During Love Lights (in February), Canyon Frights (in October) and Canyon Lights (from late November until January), the place is lit up at night with lights and decorations all over the place. Capilano Suspension Bridge goes all out during the Valentine’s Day, Halloween, and Christmas seasons. During these events, the attraction is full of extra things to see during the day, but even more spectacular at night. Hoppy Heights is a bit different, in a few ways.

Capilano Bridge is only open between 9:00 am and 6:00 pm during Hoppy Heights (although guests can stay up until 7:00 pm). 6:00 pm is much earlier than during the other special holiday seasons, and the days are longer in spring. As a result, it only starts to get dark around closing time. Whereas Love LightsCanyon Frights and Canyon Lights are world-famous for their night-time illuminations, Hoppy Heights is predominantly a day-time event. It’s not a lights attraction.

Things you’ll see during the Hoppy Heights season are a few photo-opportunity displays, primarily near the start and around the Trading Post gift store. There are a few egg decorations here and there elsewhere, but they aren’t all over the place. There is a scavenger hunt, where if you find half a dozen or so eggs you’ll win a prize. There is also a station that has crayons and a colouring contest for kids, plus a couple of games. There are also a few special Easter items on the menu at the Cliff House Restaurant.

Hoppy Heights at Easter Video

To get an idea of what Capilano Suspension Bridge Park looks like, watch the short video below. We took our pet dog/Easter bunny friend with us to the attraction soon after Hoppy Heights first opened in 2024. The video shows scenes of the venue in general, plus one of the park’s Easter-themed displays. (Note: When you go you won’t see the cute little rabbit featured in the video. He just went with us that one day.)
