Vancouver Black Friday Shopping Deals

Shopping Mall Sales

Black Friday takes place on November 27th in 2026. It’s the day after American Thanksgiving and the start of the Christmas shopping season and holiday sales.

Cyber Monday, which in 2026 is on November 30th, is the Monday after Black Friday when even more things go on sale online.

Black Friday is like Boxing Day, except this special day for holiday shopping deals is in late November and Boxing Day is after Christmas.

Happening at around the same time is BC Buy Local Week which is a campaign that reminds people about the importance and benefits of supporting local businesses and buying local. Last year, BC Buy Local Week ran from December 1st until the 7th.

Thanks for Buying Local

SUPPORT LOCAL!

When shopping, please don’t forget to support small local businesses too. Giant online retailers typically do well. Small local businesses, on the other hand,  sometimes struggle. Shop local and support small independent businesses as much as possible.

BC Buy Local Week typically runs the first week of December. However, it’s good to support local before, after, and all the time.

Black Friday Shopping in Metro Vancouver

As most people know (unless you’re new to the continent), Black Friday is the day after American Thanksgiving which is the fourth Thursday in November. The day marks the official start of the Christmas shopping season. Numerous malls and retailers offer special sales to entice shoppers and to commemorate the occasion.

Below are some of the shopping malls and retail outlets around Metro Vancouver that offer Black Friday specials.

Metropolis at Metrotown in Burnaby

Metropolis at Metrotown is Vancouver’s largest shopping mall. With over 400 stores and restaurants as well as a movie theatre, the mall has something for every shopper. The mall always has a fabulous selection of deals and discounts for Black Friday.

See our article about Metropolis at Metrotown for more details about the mall in general.

TIP: Throughout the holiday season there is the Santa Experience at Metropolis at the Met. Last year, on December 6th, in addition to the regular photos with Santa opportunities, there was also a holiday artisan market, a dance party and a toy drive. The artisan market happened on December 7th.

Holiday Hive Market

Pacific Centre in Downtown Vancouver

A large mall with high-end stores in downtown Vancouver is Pacific Centre. It’s located in the middle of Robson, Granville, Howe and West Pender Streets. Brand-name retailers at the mall include Abercrombie & Fitch, American Outfitters, Banana Republic, Club Monaco, La Vie en Rose, lululemon, The Body Shop and dozens of others.

See our Pacific Centre article to learn more about the venue.

Tsawwassen Mills Mall in Delta

Tsawwassen Mills is a large outlet shopping mall located in Delta close to the ferry terminal. The place has over 200 stores and restaurants.

Many stores within the mall offer deals for Black Friday. Click Tsawwassen Mills Mall to learn more about the shopping centre in general.

McArthur Glen Designer Outlet in Richmond

Designed like a European shopping street, McArthurGlen is a large outlet mall near the Vancouver Airport (which is about a 30-minute drive from downtown Vancouver). Stores at McArthurGlen include designer places such as Jimmy Choo and Coach as well as less fancy outlets like Old Navy.

Click McArthur Glen Outlet Mall for more information about the mall.

Guildford Town Centre in Surrey

Guildford Town Centre is one of the largest malls in the Metro Vancouver area. It has over 200 shops and restaurants as well as a movie theatre.

Most (but not all) stores in Guildford Town Centre usually offer some kind of sale for Black Friday. The sales normally run all weekend, so from Black Friday until Cyber Monday, but in some cases for even longer. See our article about Guildford Town Centre for more details about the mall.

50% Off Shopping Sales

Park Royal Mall in West Vancouver

The North Shore’s Park Royal Shopping Centre is one of the oldest and biggest malls in Metro Vancouver. The place has over 200 stores and restaurants, as well as a Cineplex movie theatre. People can choose to shop at one (or all three) of the mall’s sections: Park Royal North, Park Royal South or the Village.

Click Park Royal Mall for more information about the venue.

Other Shopping Centres

Other malls in Metro Vancouver include Lansdowne Centre and Aberdeen Centre in Richmond and Central City in Surrey. There won’t be so many deals at places like these during Black Friday week, but there should still be some (especially at the big box anchor stores).

Coquitlam Centre is another big mall that can get busy during the pre-Christmas season. MEC, a one-stop shop for outdoor enthusiasts, is also a popular place to shop at any one of the store’s various locations.

While not malls, there are several other places in the Vancouver area to find great Black Friday deals. Granville Street and Robson Street are two shopping destinations with a wide variety of stores.

In addition to the places listed above, some other shopping destinations in the Lower Mainland include Lonsdale Quay and Granville Island. While not known for their Black Friday deals, these are great places for shopping in general and finding unique gifts.

BLACK FRIDAY TIPS

In some cases from previous years, we’ve noticed that some retailers actually offer better deals the week before Black Friday, like 50% off everything prior to the date of American Thanksgiving and then just 40% off during their Black Friday sales. So shop wisely and don’t be fooled by gimmicks! There are definitely great deals to be had. Not everything with a sale sign on it, though, is at its lowest price of the season.

And finally, it’s important to support local businesses. There are lots of great online sales. When and where you can, though, try to buy and support local. Small businesses don’t normally offer big Black Friday deals. They do, though, have a big impact on the wellbeing of local communities.
