Sunday Market in Kitsilano
The Kitsilano Farmers Market runs each year from early May until around the third week in October. The market opens at 10:00 am and runs for four hours.
During that time hundreds of people turn out to shop. On sunny summer days the turnout can be in the thousands! In 2024 the market ran every Sunday from May 5th to October 27th.
There is now also the Kitsilano Winter Market! The winter market runs every Sunday from November 3rd, 2024, until April 27th, 2025. It happens on the same day and at the same time (from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm), and is held at a slightly different location.
The Kitsilano Farmers Market takes place in the summer at the Kitsilano Community Centre at 2690 Larch Street. The Kitsilano Winter Market, meanwhile, happens across the street in the Kitsilano Secondary School parking lot at 2706 Trafalgar Street.
Both versions of the market typically host around 50 or more vendors each week. There is everything from local fruits and vegetables to fresh-baked goods to meats and cheeses that you can buy. There is also always lots of organic produce and handmade artisan products, as well as buskers entertaining. Food and coffee trucks are available too if buying delicious produce and treats aren’t enough!
Of all of the Lower Mainland’s numerous farmers markets, the one in Kitsilano is definitely among the largest and most dynamic.
What’s in the Area?
Nearby, there is a bike route that provides easy access to the market. Consider riding your bike or using some other form of wheeled transportation besides your car. This makes sense here because just a couple of blocks from the Kitsilano Farmers Market location is West Broadway with all its restaurants and additional shopping opportunities.
While in the neighbourhood, cycle over to other interesting places like the park and beach at Kitsilano, as well as other beaches like Jericho, Locarno and Spanish Banks.
Also just a short jaunt away is Vanier Park which is home to the Maritime Museum, H.R. MacMillan Space Centre and Museum of Vancouver.
Another fun summer event is the Kitsilano Showboat concert series. There are free outdoor concerts nearly every weekend from mid-June to mid-August at the ampitheatre on the southwest end of Kitsilano Beach.
Buy your picnic fixings at the market and then head out and explore!
