The Kitsilano Farmers Market takes place on Sundays from 10 am to 2 pm outdoors at the Kitsilano Community Centre at 2690 Larch Street in Vancouver.
It is one of the Lower Mainland’s largest and most impressive farmers markets and well worth checking out.
Sunday Market in Kitsilano
The Kitsilano Farmers Market runs each year from early May until around the third week of October. It starts at 10 in the morning and continues for four hours. During that time hundreds of people turn out to shop, and on sunny summer days the turnout can be in the thousands.
In 2018 the Kitsilano market ran on Sundays between 10 am and 2 pm from May 6th until October 21st. The season is finished, but look for them to return in early May of 2019.
At the market there is everything from local fruits and vegetables to fresh-baked goods to meats and cheeses. There is also always lots of organic produce and handmade artisan products, as well as someone on a guitar or other instrument entertaining.
Of all of the Lower Mainland’s numerous farmers markets, the one in Kitsilano is definitely among the largest and most dynamic. On a typical week there can be as many as 50 vendors or more.
What’s in the Area?
Nearby, there is a bike route that provides easy access to the market. Consider riding your bike or using some other form of wheeled transportation besides yoru car. This makes sense here because just a couple of blocks from the Kitsilano Farmers Market location is West Broadway with all its restaurants and additional shopping opportunities.
Buy your picnic fixings at the market and then head out and explore!
Other markets taking place on Sundays in the summer include ones at Ambleside, Coquitlam, Mt. Pleasant and White Rock. Biweekly Sunday markets also take place in Ladner and Steveston Farmers.
