United Voices Choir (UVC) Concerts in Vancouver
The United Voices Choir is a large choir based in Vancouver. The diverse group consists of about 50+ members, including artistic director Dr. Greg Caisley. There are singers of varying levels of training and experience, all of which have earned a spot by auditioning.
The choir usually rehearses weekly from September to May. They host a few concerts as well, including ones in late spring, one or two in the fall and another in early winter (during the Christmas holiday season).
Rather than focusing on smaller pieces, the choir takes on larger choral music. They are often accompanied by soloists and orchestras that make their concerts extra special.
UVC Fall and Winter Concerts (in 2025)
The United Voices Choir has a couple of concerts in late 2025. Their final two concerts of the year are on November 21st and December 20th. See below for details about each of them.
Duruflé Requiem (on November 21st, 2025)
The Duruflé Requiem is a concert on Friday, November 21st, at Pacific Spirit United Church. The church’s address is 2195 West 45th Avenue in Vancouver’s Kerrisdale neighbourhood. Beginning at 7:30 pm, the concert includes works by both Maurice Duruflé and Morten Lauridsen.
Maurice Duruflé (1902-1986) was a French composer and organist. His famous Requiem (1947) is a masterpiece full of power, beauty and intensity. At this concert, the 55-member choir is accompanied by baritone David Rosborough, mezzo-soprano Melanie Adams, and David Poon on organ.
This concert also includes three luminous short works by the American choral composer Morten Lauridsen. They are Introit from Lux Aeterna, Ave Maria, and Sure on this Shining Night. During this part of the concert the United Voices Choir is accompanied by the choir’s own talented pianist, Danielle Lee.
The concert lasts for about 2 hours and tickets cost $32 for adults and $15 for children ages 18 and under.

Soloists at the concert include Dory Hayley (soprano), Cameron Killick (baritone), Erik Kallo (countertenor) and Jonathan Michel (tenor). Tickets cost $32 for adults and $15 for youth ages up to 18.
