Christmas Craft Fair at Vancouver’s Dunbar Community Centre
The Dunbar Holiday Market and Craft Fair returned for another festive season of local shopping and community cheer in 2025, and celebrates its 42nd year in 2026. The event features many artisan vendors, live entertainment, and festive door prizes.
When and Where?
The market runs from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm inside the gymnasium at the Dunbar Community Centre. The gymnasium is quite large, packed with multiple rows of vendors. Artisans are also lining the indoor corridors and multiple other rooms in the main building of the community centre. It’s spread over two floors. The community centre is located south of Kitsilano and east of the University of British Columbia. It’s situated in a quiet residential area. There is parking at the centre, but it’s limited. Parking is easy and free in the surrounding residential area.
What to Expect
Dunbar Community Centre’s Holiday Market is very popular. The line begins forming almost an hour before the market opens, remaining busy until around 3:00 pm when the market starts to wind down. To avoid lines, consider going later in the morning.
Admission is around $4 in advance online or about $5 at the door, with free entry for children under 12 years old. Unlike other markets over the holiday season, this one isn’t free. However, the market has over 100 vendors selling their goods, making it an excellent opportunity for Christmas shopping.
Visitors can browse a selection of handmade gifts, seasonal treats, and one-of-a-kind crafts from local creators in a lively, festive atmosphere. There’s live music, a coffee stall, food, and baked goods for sale to snack on while browsing all the merchants’ tables.
The Dunbar Community Centre typically lights its Christmas tree at 4:00 pm. Many vendors and community members gather around the tree to see the lights illuminate for the first time of the season. It’s a heartwarming community event, and the tree is quite large.
