Whistler’s Peak 2 Peak Gondola

Peak to Peak Gondola

One of the longest and highest gondolas in the world, the Peak 2 Peak Gondola provides incredible sightseeing opportunities between Whistler’s mountains.

Peak 2 Peak Gondola and 360 Experience

Whistler is known for its two mountains, which combine to form the Whistler Blackcomb Ski Resort. Both of the mountains have a gondola that climbs up to the top, and connecting the two of them is the special Peak 2 Peak Gondola.

Peak 2 Peak is one of the most unique gondolas in Canada and in the world. At 436 metres above the ground, Peak 2 Peak has the highest elevation of any gondola of its kind. The gondola is also nearly 4.5 kilometres long. Despite having some high-speed cable cars, it still takes over 10 minutes to reach the other side!

The gondola took two years to build, between 2007 and 2008. It can carry up to 4,100 people per hour. Peak 2 Peak has become a celebrity in its own right, featuring in a 2009 Discovery Channel documentary and in a show called Modern Marvels in a History Channel.

Peak 2 Peak is usually open from May until October and is part of the Whistler 360 Experience which also includes the Peak Express Chair up Whistler Mountain that leads to the Cloudraker Skybridge.
