Oktoberfest at the Austria Vancouver Club

The Austria Vancouver Club is a cultural centre in Richmond. The club hosts Austrian meal nights, live music events, dances, Oktoberfest events, and more.

The club typically hosts three Oktoberfest events each year. In 2026 these happen on the Saturdays of September 26th, October 3rd and October 24th. All three are great to attend and lots of fun.

Austria Vancouver Club in Richmond

The Austria Vancouver Club is a non-profit club in Richmond. Founded by 18 Austrian immigrants more than 50 years ago, the club proudly continues Austrian traditions on the west coast. The club is for and run by its members. The general public, however, is also welcome to attend club events.

The cultural centre has traditional European decor. It features a big hall with a small raised stage, more than 30 tables, a dance floor, kitchen and a bar. During the Oktoberfest events especially, you can picture yourself in a real Austrian community hall. It’s a neat place.

The club hosts various events and is open to everyone. Family Nights take place most Friday evenings with special entertainment and traditional food. Austrian favourites on offer typically include pork hock dinners, frittaten soup, pork schnitzel, potato salad, mehlspeisen dessert, and more. The Austria Vancouver Club also hosts Oktoberfest events in the fall with live music, dancing, beer and more.

Location and Directions

The Austria Vancouver Club is located at 5851 Westminster Highway in Richmond. It’s in the northwest region of the city close to the Fraser River. The venue is about a 10-minute drive from the Richmond Olympic Oval, Vancouver International Airport and Richmond Summer Night Market. Steveston Village and Lansdowne Centre are also only about 10 minutes away by car.

For people driving to the cultural centre, it’s good to know a couple of things in advance. The building is not accessible from Westminster Highway. Instead, turn north on Lynas Lane and then take the first right onto Dover Crescent. The Austria Vancouver Club is on the right side, so across the street from Dover Neighbourhood Park. There is lots of parking available on-site.

The Austria Vancouver Club has numerous events throughout the year. Details about Oktoberfest events are below.

In 2026 all three Oktoberfest events at the club are likely similar. They take place on the Saturdays of September 26th, October 3rd and October 24th. They are all dinner and dance events beginning at 5:30 pm. The first night features Al Pichler & The Alpiners. At the time of updating this article, entertainment details for the other two events are to be confirmed.

Admission last year cost $40 for members and $50 for guests. Each ticket included dinner. Beverages and additional food cost extra. Prices in 2026 will likely be comparable.

We went to an Oktoberfest event at the club a few years ago and it was wonderful. There was a band and lots of food, drinking and dancing. There was also some exceptional entertainment!
