The Austria Vancouver Club is a cultural centre in Richmond. The club hosts Austrian meal nights, live music events, dances, Oktoberfest events, and more.
In 2023 the club had three Oktoberfest events. They happened on the Saturdays of September 30th, October 14th and October 28th. All three were great and a lot of fun! We went to the one at the end of September, and it was awesome!

Austria Vancouver Club in Richmond
The Austria Vancouver Club is a non-profit club in Richmond. Founded by eighteen Austrian immigrants more than fifty years ago, the club proudly continues Austrian traditions on the west coast. The club is for and run by its members. The general public, however, are welcome to attend its events.
The cultural centre has traditional European decor. It features a big hall with a small raised stage, more than thirty tables, a dance floor, kitchen and a bar. During their Oktoberfest events especially, you can picture yourself in a real Austrian community hall! It’s a neat place!
The club hosts various events and is open to everyone. Family Nights take place most Friday evenings with special entertainment and traditional food. Austrian favourites on offer typically include pork hock dinners, frittaten soup, pork schnitzel, potato salad, mehlspeisen dessert, and more. The Austria Vancouver Club also hosts Oktoberfest events in the fall with live music, dancing, beer and more.
Location and Directions
The Austria Vancouver Club is located at 5851 Westminster Highway in Richmond. It’s in the northwest region of the city close to the Fraser River. The venue is about a 10-minute drive from the Richmond Olympic Oval, Vancouver International Airport and Richmond Summer Night Market. Steveston Village and Lansdowne Centre are also only about 10 or so minutes away by car.
For folks driving to the cultural centre, it’s good to know a couple of things in advance. The building is not accessible from Westminster Highway. Instead, turn north on Lynas Lane and then take the first right onto Dover Crescent. The Austria Vancouver Club is on the right side, so across the street from Dover Neighbourhood Park. There is lots of parking available on site.

Oktoberfest Events in 2023
The Austria Vancouver Club has numerous events throughout the year. Details about their 2023 Oktoberfest events are below. Visit austriavancouverclub.ca or their Facebook page for the latest information about other upcoming events.
September 30th and October 14th, 2023
The first two Oktoberfest events at the club in 2023 were similar, but took place two weeks apart. The first was on Saturday, September 30th, and the second was on Saturday, October 14th.
Both were dinner and dance events. They began at 6:00 pm and featured live music by Al Pichler and the Alpiners. There were also performances by AVC Edelweiss Dancers on both nights.
Admission to each event cost $40 for members and $45 for guests. Each ticket included an entrée that was available until 7:30 pm. Beverages and additional food cost extra.
We went to the event on September 30th and it was awesome! So much fun! There was a band and lots of food, drinking and dancing. There was also some exceptional entertainment! The AVC Edelweiss Dancers are impressive!

October 28th, 2023
Similar to the first two Oktoberfest events at the Austria Vancouver Club, the one on October 28th was also a dinner and dance event. The event started at 6:00 pm with meals served until 7:30 pm. There were performances by AVC Edelweiss Dancers and live music by The Silver Stars.
Tickets cost $40 for members and $5 more for everyone else. One entrée was included with admission.
