Bear Creek Christmas Train Rides in December

One of the many amenities at Surrey’s Bear Creek Park is a Miniature Train that operates throughout most of the year. The train ride lasts for about 10 minutes and it has a festive Christmas theme throughout December.

Riding the train at night is a different experience from riding the train during the day. In fact, the Christmas train that runs up until 4:30 pm is called the Santa Express, and then it transforms into the Christmas Night Train from 6:00 pm onward.

Both rides are family-friendly and recommended for folks of all ages. The Santa Express Train usually offers additional activities for children to enjoy, whereas the Christmas Night Train features a lively light display.

Best Christmas Activities

Santa Express Train

The Santa Express Train is more than just a train ride. It includes Christmas crafts and photo opportunities with Santa Claus.

Tickets last year were only available on-site. They cost about $13 per person ages 3 and above. The train runs daily from early December until end of the month. Hours of operation are typically from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm. The only day it’s closed is on December 25th.

Christmas Night Train

Unlike the Santa Express Train, the Christmas Night Train is just the train ride. Even though additional activities are not provided, the festive illuminations throughout the ride are usually beautiful during the dark winter nights.

The Christmas Night Train runs from early December until around the end of the month, with the exceptions of December 24th and 25th. Hours of operation are from 6:00 pm until 10:00 pm. Admission costs around $12.50 per person, but children under the age of 3 ride for free. Tickets are available both online and in-person.
