Vancouver’s Japan Market in 2026

Vancouver Japan Market

The Japan Market features Japanese-inspired vendors and food trucks at various locations in Vancouver. The events usually run for one or two days each season.

Sometimes the markets happen in the North Plaza outside the Vancouver Art Gallery and sometimes they take place in or near Robson Square. Occasionally, they’ll be somewhere else, but not very often.

Japanese Markets in Vancouver

The Japan Market is a sizeable market filled with Japanese products. Taking place a few times a year at a couple of different locations in the City of Vancouver, the event is an excellent way to learn about Japanese culture.

Three Japanese Vancouverites organize the Japan Market, and they also sell their own products there. Yuko, Mami and Yurie put together impressive markets. There is typically a wide variety of products to explore, including everything from food and art to clothing and accessories. Sometimes, there is live entertainment to enjoy too.

TIP: Another fabulous market is the Shipyards Night Market. It takes place on Fridays in North Vancouver. That event features artisan vendors, live music, a beer garden and free admission.

2026 Dates and Locations

The Japan Market takes place seasonally, usually once in the spring, summer, autumn and winter. In 2026, the spring market took place on February 21st and 22nd at Robson Square.

Hours for the Spring market this year were from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on both Saturday and Sunday. The next market, following Spring, runs on June 6th from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm and June 7th from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. The market is at the Vancouver Art Gallery North Plaza.

Admission

Tickets are required for most Japan Market events. Admission to the market usually costs around $5 for one adult or $9 for two adults. Kids under 15 enter for free.

Market Vendors and Entertainment

The Japanese market offers a wide range of products and attractions to explore. It is one of Vancouver’s biggest markets for locally made or imported Japanese goods and food. The market is an enjoyable experience just to see all the unique offerings from and inspired by Japan.

The exact number of vendors varies from event to event. However, you can usually expect around 80 tables at the markets on nicer days and up to 8,000 attendees.
