Mazahr Lebanese Restaurant at West 11th and Granville Street
Mazahr Lebanese Kitchen is a beloved restaurant in Vancouver. It’s a welcoming place that serves authentic cuisine originating from the country of Lebanon. There are flavours from neighbouring countries in the Middle East as well. The restaurant prides itself on using fresh ingredients and preparing fresh food each day.
In addition to indoor tables and chairs, there’s also outdoor seating on the patio (which has heaters in colder months). Mazahr offers pickup and delivery services. They can also cater for big events by request.
Visit the Mazahr Lebanese Kitchen website for full details about the restaurant.
Restaurant Location and Hours
Mazahr is located at 1488 West 11th Avenue in Vancouver. The restaurant is in the city’s Fairview neighbourhood. It’s just a 5-minute drive from Granville Island, and four blocks south of West Broadway. In fact, it’s situated two doors from Granville Street, just around the corner from the Arts Club Theatre‘s Stanley Industrial Alliance Stage.
The restaurant is closed on Mondays, but it opens at noon on all other days of the week. Closing times vary depending on the day. At the time of writing this article, Mazahr closes at 9:00 pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. On Fridays and Saturdays it’s open until 9:30 pm.
The Menus at Mazahr
Mazahr has four different menus. There are separate menus for lunch and dinner, as well as a drinks menu and a dessert menu.
There are a variety of platters available for lunch, including falafel, cauliflower, kafta and more. All platters come with a choice of two sides. A larger menu is available for dinner. Categories of dishes available each evening include soups and salads, cold mezza, hot mezza and grilled mezza. Everything we’ve had there has been delicious, including the steak.
What is mezza you ask? It’s a collection of small dishes which are often shared as appetizers. Also sometimes spelled mezze, mezza is popular in Eastern Mediterranean countries, kind of like tapas are in Spain.
In terms of drinks, there are a couple of traditional beverages to choose from, plus cocktails, beers, wines, teas and coffees. The restaurant offers three desserts. At the time of writing this article, the options were rice pudding, baklawa, and dried fruits and nuts with ice cream.
