
The Burnaby Blues + Roots Festival is a Vancouver music festival that takes place on the lawns of Deer Lake Park in August.
In 2026 the festival takes place on Saturday, August 8th and is free to attend. Other events around this time of year include the BC Dumpling Festival, African Descent Festival, Harmony Arts Festival and Shipyards Night Market (all of which have free admission).

Burnaby’s Deer Lake Music Festival
The Burnaby Blues + Roots Festival in 2026 runs from 3:30 pm until 10:00 pm on August 8th. There’s a lot of great music and plenty of food and drink options.
The festival takes place at Deer Lake Park in central Burnaby, not far from the City Hall and Burnaby Village Museum. The park is a beautiful venue and the festival features multiple stages, food vendors and (importantly) a beer garden.

Entertainment Schedule
The 2026 festival features two stages in the park along with three performance areas at Burnaby Village Museum. Entertainment schedules for the day are below.

Main Stage
The performance schedule for the festival’s main stage at Deer Lake Park in 2026 is as follows:
- 4:00 pm – TYA
- 4:45 pm – Wyatt C. Lewis
- 5:40 pm – GALACTIC featuring Jelly Joseph
- 7:15 pm – Jully Black
- 8:30 pm –Â TALK
Community Stage
The Community Stage on the east lawn this year features the following performances:
- 3:30 pm – Janky Bungag
- 4:30 pm – Mikey Jose
- 5:30 pm – DACEY
- 6:40 pm – Desirée Dawson

- 11:30 am – Smootherin (Band Stand)
- 12:00 pm – Matt Hermano (Market Garden)
- 12:15 pm – Adrienne Robles (Vorce Stage)

- 1:00 pm – Rebecca Sichon (Band Stand)

Things to Bring Along and to Leave at Home
There are a number of things that the festival recommends you bring to the event, as well as items you should leave at home.
Not allowed at the festival are the usual things like outside alcohol, drugs and weapons. Also not welcome are pets, frisbees, balls, BBQs, musical instruments, shaded canopies and even umbrellas (so hope it doesn’t rain).
Things to take include sunscreen and/or a raincoat depending on how the weather looks. Guests can also bring lawn chairs.
The Burnaby Blues + Roots Festival is a fabulous family-friendly event with great music. The crowd consists of those of all ages.
