Carnavalito on the Road in Langley
The Carnavalito on the Road is a free, one-day celebration of Latin culture. Carnavalito means “little carnival” in Spanish. The event has this name because it’s an offshoot of the Carnaval del Sol festival in July.
This event is not a direct part of the Latin American Experience, but it’s related, and takes place later in the summer.
In 2025 Carnavalito on the Road happened on Saturday, August 30th. It returns in 2026. Exact details are to be confirmed.
Where is the Carnavalito?
The festival takes place at Douglas Park in Langley. It begins at 12:00 pm and runs until 9:00 pm. There is public parking nearby as well as bus stops for those who prefer to take public transit.
Admission to the Carnavalito is free, although donations are encouraged.
Visit the Carnavalito on the Road website for full details about this event.
The Carnavalito Plazas
Similar to Carnaval del Sol in Vancouver in the summer, the event grounds at Carnavalito are made up of various plazas. There aren’t as many of them as there are at Carnaval del Sol, but there are still around six to explore.
The biggest areas are the Main Plaza and the Family & Kids Plaza. They feature music, dancing and other fun activities. The She Latina Plaza is a vibrant space that empowers women. There are female business owners, creatives and other leaders to meet and listen to.
The Food Plaza and Beer Plaza are the places to go for refreshments. There are various food vendors as well as a number of drink vendors selling both beer and cocktails. Finally, the Artisan Plaza features a Latin market with the chance to see art and culture. Market vendors in 2025 included Thirteen Tesoros, Tisay Art Crafts, Mercadito Mexicano, Lexka B-Youx Author’s Jewelry, and others.
