Vancouver Bandits Basketball Team

Formerly known as the Fraser Valley Bandits, the Vancouver Bandits are a pro basketball team that plays around two dozen games during their regular season, half of which are in Langley. Their mascot is a fox named Berry the Bandit who you’ll see at their games as well as at community events around the Lower Mainland.

After making their debut in 2019, the Bandits became the first professional basketball team in Metro Vancouver since the Vancouver Grizzlies left town in 2001.

From 2019 to 2021 the Bandits played in the Abbotsford Centre. In 2022 they moved to the Langley Events Centre where they continue to play today. The Bandits have made the CEBL championship game twice, in 2020 and 2024, but unfortunately lost in the final both times. They are a very good team.

The Langley Events Centre is located at 7888 200th Street in Langley, just off Highway 1. It’s about a 45-minute drive from downtown Vancouver. The Bandits boasted the second-highest average attendance in the CEBL in the 2024 season! As many as 4000 or more fans attend their games.

Vancouver Bandits Tickets

In 2025 tickets to Vancouver Bandits games range from $15 (for the standing-only sections) to $60 (for premium seats in the main bowl) or up to $200 for the best courtside seats. Those are for single games.

Season tickets start at $215 and go up to about $600 for seats in the main bowl. There are Courtside Club season ticket seats as well that are on floor level and include in-seat food and beverage service and other perks. These packages cost between $970 and $2150.

There are also Jam Packs which allow you to buy tickets in packs of eight, 16 or 24, saving between 5% and 15% over buying them individually. The Jam Packs can be used for any home game and spread out however you’d like. For example, if you buy a 16-ticket Jam Pack you can use all of them at a single game (to share with your friends), or use two of them at eight different games, or any other combination.

The most affordable option for tickets is the Student Pass. There are a limited number of these passes available for all students (whether elementary, high school or university). In 2025 they cost just $49 and give access to every home game! The Student Pass tickets are good for a general admission section of the arena and they typically sell out.

Season Opener Game Highlights Video

The first game of the season in 2025 was on Thursday, May 22nd. Below is a video with highlights of the game which they won.

About the CEBL

The CEBL is a relatively young professional basketball league that stretches across Canada. There are ten teams competing in the 2025 season. CEBL games feature four quarters of ten minutes each, using standard FIBA rules similar to leagues in Europe.

What makes the CEBL unique is its use of the “Elam Ending”. How it works is as follows: the first time that the game clock stops with less than four minutes to go in the fourth quarter, it’s then turned off for the rest of the game and a “target score” is created.

The target score is determined by adding on nine points to the leading team’s score. For example, if the score is 101-97 when the game clock is turned off, the target score is set at 110. The first team to reach 110 points wins the game.

The use of the target score is meant to add excitement to the end of games by making it so the team that’s trailing doesn’t slow things down with intentional fouls, and so the team that’s in front has to keep attacking rather than try and run out the clock. It also means that there’s a game-winning shot in every game!
