December 2025 Highlights
Major happenings in December include Christmas Events, Holiday Concerts, Christmas Theatre, Santa Claus Parades and Winter Artisan Markets.
Christmas Attractions in December include Canyon Lights, Glow Langley, the Dundarave Festival of Lights, Lights by the Lake, and Festival of Lights at VanDusen Garden. There is also Photos with Santa at Britannia Mine, Glow Langley, Merry & Bright at Martini Town and Timberline Country Christmas. For people who like shopping at fun places, there is the Vancouver Christmas Market, Shipyards Christmas Market, and Wesbrook Holiday Craft Market.
In December there’s also the North Pole Express in Squamish, and both WinterFest at MOS and the Noel Holiday Light Festival in Surrey. Holiday History & Hot Chocolate Tour in Vancouver are lots of fun, interesting and tasty too. There’s also the North Pole Express at the Railway Museum of BC, and Winterfest at MOS and Noel Festival in Surrey, and so much more.
Showing at Flyover Canada this month are the films Awaken Canada and Soar with Santa. There are also concerts with the Vancouver Welsh Men’s Choir, Chor Leoni and other choirs as well as Goh Ballet’s The Nutcracker.
Other events happening in December this year are various Vancouver Boat Parties, Theatre Shows, and New Year’s Eve events.
It usually rains a fair bit in December. On rainy days museums are popular places to visit. Some of the region’s best include the Vancouver Maritime Museum, Chinese Canadian Museum and Britannia Mine. There is also the Museum of Surrey and a variety of other great museums. On rainy days, comedy shows at The Improv Centre on Granville Island are also popular.
Other great things to do in November when the weather is good include exploring the region’s Parks & Nature. There are also walking tours with Forbidden Vancouver, outdoor adventure games with Vancouver Mysteries, and ropes course activities with WildPlay Maple Ridge, plus so much more!
