Agricultural Fair in Abbotsford

Billing itself as the “biggest little country fair since 1911,” the Abbotsford Agrifair is an annual event in the Fraser Valley which is one of, if not the, most important farming regions in the Lower Mainland.

Abbotsford is in the heart of farm country and the event is a major community affair. Vancouver’s Best Places is a proud media sponsor of the event.

Agrifair Dates & Location

In 2018 the Abbotsford Agrifair takes place in Abbotsford on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday of August 3rd to 5th which is also the BC Day Long Weekend.

Gates are open daily from 10:00 in the morning until 10:00 at night and the facility shuts down each day at 11:00 pm.

The Abbotsford Agrifair takes place at Exhibition Park at 32470 Haida Drive in Abbotsford.

Agrifair Admission Rates

In 2018 general admission to the fair is $12 for adults, $10 for students and seniors, and free for children ages 10 and under. These prices are the same as they were in the previous year. They are also a fabulous deal as they include admission to most venues, including the motocross stunt shows and RCMP Musical Ride performances.

3-day weekend passes are also available at $18 per person. Rides are extra and parking costs $5 per vehicle (with no in-and-out privileges).

Amusement Ride Rates

Individual tickets for the rides at the Abbotsford Agrifair cost $1.25 each or $23 for a book of 20. Little kid-type rides typically take between 3 and 4 tickets and more serious rides require between 4 and 5. The most expensive ride is the Zipper which costs 6 tickets per trip.

All-day wristbands are also available for $35 per day, which is a comparatively good deal (especially if you want to hang out on the Zipper).

Another way to save is to go on Friday, August 3rd, between noon and 3:00 pm when all rides cost just $2 each.

Note: Shooting Star Amusements’ ride tickets are non-refundable, so don’t buy more than you need. The tickets never expire, however, so if you don’t use them all up this year you can use them at the Abbotsford Agrifair another day, another year or at another event in the future.

Agrifair Video

Below is a video showcasing some of the events and activities at the Abbotsford Agrifair most years. Included in the video are views from the Ferris wheel, Richard’s Racers pig races, the demolition derby and motocross jumping stunts. Also featured in the video is the RCMP Musical Ride which visited the Agrifair in 2018.

Things not included in the video are the lumberjack shows, evening concerts, animal displays and lots of other fun stuff.

There are so many amazing things to see and do at the Agrifair.

Tips and Advice

Below are some tips and suggestions to help you make the most out of your visit to the Abbotsford Agrifair.

TIP #1: Don’t forget that Midway rides cost just $2 on the Friday between 12:00 and 3:00 pm. At all other times regular ride attraction rates apply.

TIP #2: We highly recommend the Global FMX Motocross events. The motorcycle jumps and stunts are amazing! The Demolition Derby can be pretty fun to watch too.

TIP #3: Another event you definitely won’t want to miss is the RCMP Musical Ride. This is a world-famous show featuring Royal Canadian Mounted Police in their red uniforms riding in formation to music around the Thunder Bowl. It’s impressive!

TIP #4: If you want a seat in the bleachers for the RCMP Musical Ride, Global FMX Motocross or Demolition Derby events, get to the respective venues early, and well before show time. On busy days and at popular times, the seats fill up quickly.

TIP #5: If you have young children with sensitive ears, consider letting them use ear plugs or ear protectors of some kind. Most children will love the show, but it can get pretty loud and folk with extra-sensitive hearing may want to cover their ears.

TIP #6: Take a hat and sunscreen and be sure to keep hydrated if it’s a sunny day. It can get hot out in Abbotsford!
