Festive Cantatas Christmas Concert

Festive Cantatas: Gloria with Vivaldi & Bach is a joyful Christmas concert presented by Early Music Vancouver. The performance takes place at UBC in December.

The winter holiday concert is with the Pacific Baroque Orchestra plus a pair of vocalists and the Vancouver Youth Choir. If you’ve ever been to the Vancouver Summer Festival (formerly known as the Vancouver Bach Festival), you’ll already be familiar with the orchestra and Early Music Vancouver (EMV) and know that you’ll be in for a unique treat!

Festive Cantatas Concert: Gloria with Vivaldi & Bach in Vancouver

Early Music Vancouver has held events for over 50 years. There are multiple concerts to enjoy at different times of the year, including in December.

The Festive Cantatas: Gloria with Vivaldi & Bach concert this year is a joyful performance that’s perfect for the holiday season. The composition features Vivaldi’s Gloria RV 589, along with two Bach cantatas: Jauchzet Gott BWV 51 and Ich habe genug BWV 82a.

The uplifting production features the Pacific Baroque Orchestra as well as vocalists Len Torrie (soprano) and Georgia Burashko (mezzo-soprano). In addition, the Vancouver Youth Choir accompanies the performance of Gloria.

In 2026 the Festive Cantatas: Gloria with Vivaldi & Bach concert happens in Vancouver on December 20th at the Chan Centre at 6265 Crescent Road at UBC. The show begins at 3:00 pm.

Admission Prices

Tickets for the 2026 show are available online. General admission starts at $42 per person and goes up to $88. Tickets further away from the stage are the least expensive. Discounted rates are available for kids and adults ages 35 and under, with student tickets costing just $20.

About EMV

Early Music Vancouver (EMV) is a performing arts organization that has been putting together shows in Metro Vancouver for over 50 years. There are different EMV concerts and events to enjoy at various times of the year, many of which feature artists and composers from around the world.

EMV is also the organization behind the Vancouver Summer Festival which is an exceptional series of concerts that happens around the beginning of August. Playing at many of Early Music Vancouver’s productions is the Pacific Baroque Orchestra which is really good.
