Salmon Sessions Music Festival Fundraiser for the Little Campbell Salmon Hatchery

The Semiahmoo Fish & Game Club is home to the Little Campbell Salmon Hatchery. The not-for-profit society raises and releases over 100,000 salmon fry every year. The fish play an important role in the province’s food infrastructure.

Unfortunately, the hatchery requires urgent and costly reconstruction. Together with the help of the Penmar Community Arts Society, the Semiahmoo Fish & Game Club hosts the Salmon Sessions Music Festival. It’s a fundraiser for the hatchery and a fun celebration of local music.

The one-day festival took place in 2023 for the first time, and it’s happening again in the summer of 2024. The event features live rock, funk and country music by local bands on an outdoor stage. Everyone is encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs. There’s also a beverage garden with various beers, wines and non-alcoholic drinks. Food vendors are on site as well. Visitors are also able to tour the hatchery at the event and learn more about the importance of the river.

For full details about the event, see the Penmar Community Arts Society‘s website.

Where and When?

The second annual Salmon Sessions Music Festival takes place in 2024 on Saturday, August 24th. It runs from 4:00 pm until 11:00 pm.

The festival is held at the Semiahmoo Fish & Game Club, located at 1284-184th Street in South Surrey. The venue is on a 29-acre property that features all sorts of trails, indoor ranges and more. It’s just north of Hazelmere Golf Club and south of the Hazelmere Pumpkin Patch. The club is also less than 10 minutes east of White Rock by car.

Entertainment Schedule (from Last Year)

The lineup of performers at the 2024 festival comes out in early May. For an idea of what to expect, performers at last year’s event included the following:

Event Ticket Details

Admission prices for the 2024 event are to be announced in early May.

Tickets in 2023 cost $40 for adults. Admission for teenagers last year cost $20 and children ages 12 and under got in for $10. Family passes were also available. They were $100 and included admission for two adults and up to three children.

Since the event is a fundraiser, last year folks could buy a special donation pass for $100. It included one adult ticket and a tax receipt for $60. We’re guessing that there will be something similar again this year. Exact details about 2024 ticket prices, however, are to be confirmed.
