The Pinoy Fiesta is a festival celebrating the Philippines and Filipino culture. The Metro Vancouver event features films, live music, market vendors and more.
In past years, pre-COVID, the Pinoy Fiesta took place at Vancouver’s Memorial South Park in August. In 2023, however, it happened at Burnaby Civic Plaza on June 24th. In 2024 it was at Swangard Stadium on June 22nd.
This year there was also a Concert at the Park event organized by the Pinoy Fiesta on September 8th. On October 5th there is Pinoy Band Aid, another concert that is raising money for the Filipino flood relief organization ABS-CBN Foundation International.

Pinoy Festival in Burnaby
The Pinoy Fiesta is one of a couple of major Filipino events in the Lower Mainland each year. The other main festival celebrating Filipino culture is the Philippine Days Festival which takes place in North Vancouver in June.
The Philippine Days Festival on the North Shore claims to be “British Columbia’s biggest celebration of Philippine Arts and Cultural Heritage.” The Pinoy Fiesta, meanwhile, used to claim to be “the most awaited and biggest Filipino cultural event in Canada.”
Both of the above events are fairly big and draw large crowds of Vancouver Filipino residents. That’s not surprising given how many people of Filipino decent live in the Lower Mainland! The majority of British Columbia’s 170,000+ Filipino population, and around 20% of all Filipinos in Canada, live in Metro Vancouver!
Where and When
The Pinoy Fiesta used to take place in late August at Memorial South Park in Vancouver. Since COVID-19, however, it has happened in a few different places.
In 2022 the United Filipino Canadian Associations in British Columbia (UFCABC) hosted the event on June 18th outside the Vancouver Art Gallery. The same organization hosted a Pinoy Festival in 2023 as well, but at Burnaby Civic Square at 6100 Willingdon Avenue. In 2024 the event had a new venue yet again. This year it happened at Swangard Stadium in Burnaby on Saturday, June 22nd, from 8:30 am until 9:00 pm.
What to Expect
At the Pinoy Fiesta you can expect to see dozens of community information booths and hundreds if not thousands of Filipinos. During the day there is live entertainment on the main stage. There are also various exhibits and food vendors.
The Pinoy Fiesta typically featured cultural performances, live music, a film screening, raffle draws and more. Admission to the event is free.
