The Pleasant Day Festival is a new street party-style event in Vancouver’s Mount Pleasant area. Free activities include live music, an artisan market and more.
The festival debuted on Saturday, August 9th, 2025.
Other events that happen around this time of year are the Shipyards Night Market, BC Dumpling Festival, KitsFest, Harmony Arts Festival and African Descent Festival, all of which are free. August 9th was also Fireworks Night at Nat Bailey Stadium with the Vancouver Canadians.
Pleasant Day Festival in Mount Pleasant
The Pleasant Day Festival, launched in 2025, is a one-day event in the summer. It takes place in the Mount Pleasant neighbourhood of Vancouver and features a variety of family-friendly activities.
Presented by the Mount Pleasant BIA, the festival happens along a one-kilometre stretch of Main Street. It’s open to the public and free to attend. The big event is a fun way to spend time outdoors in nice weather. There’s live music, artisan vendors and a selection of food trucks to choose from. There are also beer gardens for adults, as well as games and other engaging activities for kids.
When and Where is Pleasant Day Festival?
The inaugural Pleasant Day Festival took place on August 9th in 2025. It started at noon and ran until 8:00 pm.
The event was held on Main Street between East 16th Avenue and East King Edward Avenue. The southern end of the area isn’t far from Queen Elizabeth Park.

There were four stages with live entertainment during the Pleasant Day Festival this past year. Full schedules of performances for 2025 are listed below. Exact details were subject to change.
Main Stage
The Main Stage was located at the corner of Main Street and East 24th Avenue. Performances were as follows:

- 4:00 pm – Kapok

Little Mountain Stage
Performances on the Little Mountain Stage at Main Street and East 18th Avenue included the following:

- 1:30 pm – Bungalow
- 2:30 pm – Space Queen
- 3:30 pm – Elliot C Way & The Band Of Beauties
- 4:30 pm – Ayla Tesler-Mabe
- 6:30 pm – Haley Blais
Neptoon Records Stage
The Neptoon Records Stage was at the corner of Main Street and East 20th Avenue. The performance schedule is below.

Hero’s Welcome Stage
The Hero’s Welcome Stage at Main Street and East 23rd Avenue featured the following performances:

Similar Events
Although the Pleasant Day Festival is a new event, in the Lower Mainland there are similar festivals to check out throughout the year.
For example, Car Free Day events are also one-day street festivals with free and family-friendly activities. They normally take place on Main Street and Commercial Drive in Vancouver over the summer, as well as in Maple Ridge, Port Coquitlam and Surrey.
There are also Greater Vancouver Food Truck Festivals to check out, such as Food Truck Wars in Surrey, Chilliwack Party in the Park and the White Rock Night Market. These take place in smaller areas but include food trucks, live music, artisan vendors and more.
