The Dunbar Holiday Craft Fair is a Christmas craft market that takes place in Vancouver at the Dunbar Community Centre in November.
CANCELLED IN 2020
The same as many other craft markets, the event in Dunbar has been cancelled in 2020 because of COVID-19. Hopefully it will be able to happen again in 2021.
Christmas Craft Fair at Vancouver’s Dunbar Community Centre
The Dunbar Holiday Craft Fair celebrated its 37th year in 2019, and featured dozens of vendors, live entertainment and door prizes.
In 2019 the craft fair ran from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on November 23rd. Unfortunately, the craft fair is not taking place in 2020 due to the ongoing spread of the coronavirus.
Unlike craft fairs at many (but not all) other community centres around the Lower Mainland, you have to pay to shop at the event in Dunbar. Admission is $4 for tickets purchased in advance online, or $5 at the door. Children under the age of 13 though are free.
OTHER MARKETS ON THE SAME WEEKEND
Other Christmas craft fairs that took place on the weekend of November 23rd and 24th in 2019 included the Fair Trade Christmas Market in North Vancouver and the NV Holiday Bazaar in West Vancouver. In Abbotsford there is also the Olde Farmhouse Market which is a vintage market featuring antiques and farmhouse-style collectible items.
The Fair Trade Christmas Market is a smaller artisan market where you can buy fair trade items that support artists and communities in the Developing World. It’s a pop-up-style market that takes place in North Vancouver at St. Andrew’s United Church at 1044 St. George’s Avenue. It happened on Saturday, November 23rd in 2019 (so on the same day as the event in Dunbar). Admission was free.
The NV Holiday Bazaar is a medium-sized Christmas craft fair that featured about 50 or so local artisan vendors in West Vancouver at 2121 Marine Drive in the community centre on both November 23rd and 24th, 2019, from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm. Admission to this event was also free.
The Olde Farmhouse Market is a giant vintage market that took place at Abbotsford‘s Tradex Centre at 1190 Cornell Street on both November 23rd and 24th, 2019. If you like antiques and high-quality second-hand goods, you’ll love this event. Admission to this market isn’t free, but it’s very much worth paying for. General admission cost $7 for one day or $9 for all weekend and kids ages 12 and under are free. You’ll find great deals at this event!
Many craft fairs are not be taking place in 2020. This is due to COVID-19 and the restrictions imposed by the BC government to stop the spread of the virus. For the most up-to-date information visit each of the craft fairs’ official websites.
