Taves Farm Magic of Sunflowers Experience is a summer farm adventure with sunflower gardens, farm animals and family-friendly activities in Abbotsford.

In 2026 the Magic of Sunflowers runs from August 20th until September 6th (but possibly later, depending on the weather and this year’s sunflower growing season). After that, after the Labour Day Weekend, there is the Magic of Fall where the same farm has a Magical Pumpkin Garden, kid-friendly Halloween decorations, and other fun activities.

From late summer and into the fall, Taves also has apples people can pick in its orchard. The attraction is home to lots of farm animals too as well as a wide range of activities for children. For adults, there is Taves Estate Cidery.

Sunflower Attraction at Taves Family Farms in Abbotsford

Back for its second year, the Magic of Sunflowers Experience transforms Taves Family Farms into a whimsical, storybook-inspired setting filled with colourful flowers, charming decorations and outdoor adventures. Visitors can wander through sunflower and zinnia-lined pathways and discover magical photo opportunities throughout the farm.

The experience also features farm animals, outdoor play areas, mazes, apple picking and other seasonal activities. With something for both children and adults, the Magic of Sunflowers offers a fun way to enjoy the late-summer season at the farm.

When & Where

In 2026 the Magic of Sunflowers Experience runs from August 20th to September 6th (the last day of which is the Sunday of the Labour Day Weekend). It takes place on Thursdays to Sundays. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays it’s closed. Weekday hours are from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm. Weekend and holiday hours, on the other hand, are from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Taves Family Farms is located at 333 Gladwin Road in Abbotsford. Online reservations are recommended as admission prices are lower than gate prices and capacity restrictions may apply. Gate prices are $3 more per ticket.

(Note: Taves Family Farms doesn’t close for the year after the Magic of Sunflowers Experience ends. The next seasonal attraction at the farm after that is the Magic of Fall, which is similar, but with pumpkins instead of sunflowers. That event runs until Halloween. As of late August in 2026, the exact start date for the pumpkin-themed event is to be confirmed.)

What to Expect at the Magic of Sunflowers

The Magical Sunflower Garden, as you might expect, is one of the main attractions at the Magic of Sunflowers Experience. Thousands of sunflower blooms create colourful pathways through the garden, with whimsical features including a gnome home, storybook carriage and other photo opportunities.

The Mystical Meadow is another feature of the event. It offers plenty of space for outdoor play. Visitors can bounce on giant jumping pillows, ride pedal karts and try the new Mystical Slide. The area also includes friendly farm animals that visitors can see and interact with.

The Petting Barn provides another opportunity to get close to farm animals. Guests can visit goats and bunnies inside the pens while pigs, sheep, chickens, ducks and a turkey can also be found around the barnyard. Apple picking is also available in the farm’s dwarf apple orchard. Visitors can walk through the rows of trees and pick apples using farm-approved bags which are available for purchase on-site. Apples are sold by the bag.

At the late-summer attraction, there is also Merlin’s Maze that adds a magical challenge to the experience. In the maze visitors can search for five hidden chalk stations marked with different magical animals and colours before returning to the maze entrance to complete the final challenge.

Another activity is the Butterfly Release. It offers a special seasonal experience during the Magic of Sunflowers. Visitors can release a live butterfly into the garden and watch it take flight among the flowers. Butterfly releases happen on the August 21st to 23rd weekend.

Ticket Options

At Taves Family Farms they have three different ticket options for the autumn season. There is the Magical Membership which is good for both the sunflower and Magic of Fall seasons, from late August until the end of October. You can also get single-day SuperFUN and regular FUN Passes. Continue reading for details about all three options.

The main difference between the two single-day ticket options is that with the SuperFUN pass you get unlimited rides on the new Mystical Slide. With the regular pass, on the other hand, you get just one ride.

Tickets are the same price for everyone ages 3 and older. Children ages 2 and under are free. (Note: Prices and other details provided below are subject to change.)

Magical Membership Passes

The Magical Membership costs $67 for one guest and provides unlimited admission from August 20th to October 31st, on days when the farm is open, and this includes during the Magic of Fall season. Members also receive unlimited rides on the Mystical Slide and Hayrides along with access to the Magical Sunflower Garden, Magical Pumpkin Garden, three corn mazes, the Petting Barn, jumping pillows and pedal karts.

Other benefits of the Magical Membership include a $4 pumpkin voucher, a free cider slushie in a souvenir cup during the first fall visit, a discount on select farm products, and a 10% discount on admission for guests who go with you. You also get free parking throughout the fall.

Magical Membership is ideal for people who want to go multiple times, with different friends on different dates. It’s also great for families with young children who live in the Fraser Valley.

SuperFUN Pass

The SuperFUN Pass includes one day of admission to the farm experiences and U-Pick fields, along with unlimited hayrides and unlimited rides on the Mystical Slide for guests who meet the 42-inch height requirement. The pass also includes admission to the Magical Sunflower Garden, Merlin’s Corn Maze, Petting Barn, jumping pillows, Mystical Meadow, pedal karts, playground and access to the Country Store and concessions.

The weekday individual SuperFUN Pass costs $30.70 while the weekday group pass for four people is available for $116.80. The weekend and stat holiday individual SuperFUN Pass costs $31.70 per person, or $120.80 for a group of four.

(Regular) Fun Pass

The Fun Pass provides one-day admission to the farm experiences and U-Pick fields including the Magical Sunflower Garden, Merlin’s Corn Maze, Petting Barn, jumping pillows, Mystical Meadow, pedal karts, playground and Country Store.

The weekday individual Fun Pass costs $24.70 and includes one Mystical Slide ride. Four passes can also be purchased for $92.80. On weekends, meanwhile, the regular Fun Pass costs $25.70 per person or $96.80 for a group of four.

Again, the main difference between the SuperFUN Pass and the regular Fun Pass is that with the former you get unlimited rides on the Mystical Slide instead of just one.
