Chilliwack’s Atchelitz Pioneer Village
The Atchelitz Pioneer Village is an antique set of buildings, engines and farming machinery. The attraction is run and maintained by the Atchelitz Threshermen’s Association which offers guided tours whenever possible. The village is a neat place to explore, as the rustic structures can make visitors feel like they’re in a completely different time period.
The largest building on site is the Pioneer building, which is a museum. It features displays of old furniture, along with a warehouse of vintage machines, household items and more. The range of equipment is extensive. Some pieces date back to over one hundred years ago, while others were added in the late 1900s.
Admission to the museum is usually by donation. Other rooms and buildings can be rented out for various activities, such as picnics, meetings, gatherings, wedding shoots and more. A working kitchen is also on site, which is a nice bonus for larger events.
