Chilliwack Plowing Match at Greendale Acres
The Chilliwack Plowing Match is an annual tradition at Greendale Acres that began in 1923. The same farm hosts the Chilliwack Corn Maze in the fall. For more than a century, the farm has celebrated its rich history with a day of farming competitions and family-friendly activities in April.
The event in April kicks off with a pancake breakfast. The meal is available by donation with funds supporting Chilliwack Bowls of Hope which is a charity that supports children in need. After the breakfast, local farmers bring their own equipment to compete in plowing races and challenges. Parts of the competition involve horses too.
Other activities at the Chilliwack Plowing Match include tractor wagon rides and displays. There’s also a station where guests can learn how to plow and try it themselves. Plus, the event usually features live music as well as farm animals to see and kid-friendly games to play.
