Chilliwack Plowing Match in the Fraser Valley

Greendale Acres in Chilliwack

The Chilliwack Plowing Match is a farm-themed event at Greendale Acres in the Fraser Valley. It features tractor-pulling competitions and other fun activities.

Last year, the community event happened on April 6th (which was the weekend after Easter this year). Also beginning in early April that year was the Sweet Spring Flower Festival which is a family-friendly event that ran from April 4th until early May. Both of these events are happening in 2025, although exact dates in April are to be confirmed.

For full details about events at the farm, see the official Greendale Acres website.

Chilliwack Plowing Match at Greendale Acres

The Chilliwack Plowing Match is an annual tradition at Greendale Acres that began in 1923. The same farm hosts the Chilliwack Corn Maze in the fall. For more than a century, the farm has been celebrating its rich history with a day of farming competitions and family-friendly activities in April.

The event in April usually kicks off with a pancake breakfast. The meal is available by donation with funds supporting Chilliwack Bowls of Hope which is a charity that supports children in need. After the breakfast, local farmers bring their own equipment to compete in plowing races and challenges. Parts of the competition involve horses too.

Other activities at the Chilliwack Plowing Match include tractor wagon rides and displays. There’s also a station where guests can learn how to plow and try it themselves. Plus, the event usually features live music as well as farm animals to see and kid-friendly games to play.
