What to Expect at Greendale Acres at Christmas
For years in the past, Murray Blackham and his family set up beautiful Christmas light displays on Old Yale Road in Abbotsford. In 2024 and 2025, you could instead see the same lights and displays at Greendale Acres in Chilliwack during the Christmas holiday season.
From late November until around Christmas the winter holidays came alive with Murray Blackham’s beloved Old Yale Road lights. Guests could explore the festive display in two ways. They could do so by hopping on the Greendale Express train for a ride through the sparkling wonderland or by taking a peaceful walk along the illuminated paths. Part of the proceeds from admission went to charities chosen in honour of Murray’s generosity.
Beyond the lights, at Greendale Acres, families could enjoy interactive activities including Santa’s Workshop, the Greendale Post Office, a Christmas Scavenger Hunt and the Holiday Wishing Tree. The Christmas Market and Fireside Holiday Pavilion created cozy gathering spaces while specialty drinks added warmth to the experience.
In 2025, Santa was on site for photos and visits on weekdays until December 19th. He was available from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursdays and from 4:00 to 9:00 pm on Fridays. Plus, he was also on site on Wednesday, December 17th, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm.
Christmas at Greendale Acres also featured live entertainment on select dates. There was music by the Fireside Holiday Pavilion on all Saturday and Sunday nights during the event.
