Central Park Pitch and Putt
Burnaby’s Central Park features many outdoor amenities that are similar to other parks, but its pitch and putt golf course is arguably the best in the Lower Mainland.
The course features 18 holes nestled among beautiful trees and nature. The holes are all par 3’s. They vary in distance, but average approximately 85 yards. This is quite long for a pitch and putt course. Hole 13 is the shortest in length, measuring only 50 yards. The longest is Hole 7 with a distance of 130 yards.
There are no water hazards or sand traps on the course, apart from one small pond that is beyond the 18th green towards the exit. This makes the course welcoming to beginners, while the distances may appeal to more skilled golfers trying to improve their short game.
Where is the Course?
The golf course is located on the south-east edge of Central Park, which is in Burnaby and close to Metrotown. The park entrance closest to the pitch and putt by car is one block east of the corner of Imperial Street and Boundary Road. Parking there is free. After parking, walk towards the right side of the Lower Pond and continue following the trail until you arrive at the course entrance on your right side.
If using public transit, there is a bus stop at the intersection of Imperial Street and Mandy Avenue which is halfway between Boundary and Patterson Avenue. The trail by the pedestrian crosswalk there leads straight to the golf course.

General Tips
Below are some suggestions and extra information to help you make the most out of your golfing experience at Central Park.
TIP #1: Most players only need a wedge, putter and maybe a short iron for the longer Hole 7. Pull carts are not allowed so be sure to only bring clubs you’ll need and to pack lightly if you do bring a bag.
TIP #2: The last time we played at the course, the tee box mats were quite firm and didn’t have any tees. If you don’t already have one, you can purchase a rubber tee when you pay for your round.
TIP #3: When we were there in the summer a few years ago, the greens were evenly maintained but seemed slower compared to full-length courses. Consequently, seasoned golfers may need to putt with a little more power than they’re used to.
TIP #4: Be sure to explore the rest of Central Park while you’re there. It has beautiful walking trails with fish, ducks and turtles in the ponds.
