New for 2025, Coquitlam will have a special, free family-friendly event celebrating BC Day at Town Centre Park on August 4th.
The new event is so new that exact details haven’t yet been announced (as of late 2024). The event will be free though and at Town Centre Park. Expect there to be food trucks, live entertainment, market vendors and family-friendly activities.
BC Day at Town Centre Park in Coquitlam
BC Day is a statutory holiday on the first Monday in August each year. Various events take place that weekend throughout the Lower Mainland. Examples include Brigade Days at Fort Langley, the Tsawwassen Sun Festival, and Harmony Arts Festival on Vancouver’s North Shore. There is also the Chilliwack Corn Festival, White Rock Sea Festival, Vancouver Pride Festival events and the Squamish Days Logger Sports Festival.
The City of Coquitlam hosts lots of events throughout the year, including ones on holidays like Canada Day and Remembrance Day. The city also hosts Lights at LaFarge over the Christmas holiday season, plus events like the Festival du Bois, ScotFestBC, BC Dumpling Festival and World of Love Multicultural Carnival earlier in the year. The Circo Osorio Circus also usually sets up in the city in the fall.
In recent years the city hasn’t hosted a special event for BC Day. It will, however, in 2025. Details about what’s happening are expected soon. What we do know is that there will be a giant salmon barbecue, drone show, live entertainment and a Best of BC pavilion showcasing BC food, drinks, musicians, art and culture.
