New West Night Market

New West Craft is a series of artisan markets that take place twice a month in New Westminster. Christmas markets are being hosted at the River Market in 2025.

Presented by Arts New West, New West Craft is a collection of curated markets showcasing local artisans. Regular markets are held on the first and third Saturdays of each month, from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. The markets take place at the New Westminster River Market. During the holiday season, Christmas markets are also held on several dates in December.

Around the same time, the New West Holiday Market typically happens, which is an excellent market held outside New Westminster’s City Hall.

Other Lower Mainland craft fairs around the same time include the Kensington Holiday Craft Fair and West End Holiday Craft Fair in Vancouver. There are also Made in the 604 Markets, Burnaby Holiday Market, Christmas Gifts Expo in Chilliwack, the Shipyards Christmas Market, Vancouver Christmas Market and Coquitlam Christmas Night Market.

New West Craft Christmas Markets in 2025

Arts New West (formerly the Arts Council of New Westminster) is a non-profit that supports local artists and arts programming. The organization hosts the New West Craft Holiday Markets, returning this year for five festive dates in December.

In 2025, the Christmas markets take place on December 6th, 13th, 14th, 20th, and 21st. Happening between 11:00 am and 4:00 pm each day. The venue where the market happens is warm, dry, and indoors. Admission is free.

What to Expect

Expect around 25 artisans at each market, lining the ground floor area of the New West River Market. There is live holiday music, a busy and festive atmosphere, and family-friendly art workshops are also happening there.

Artisans sell a selection of handmade gifts, jewellery, ceramics, prints, textiles, and sweet treats. The venue also features other shops, and on-site food and coffee options are available within the building.

If you visit, take a moment to appreciate the river views outside the market. The Quay is a nice area to walk around and explore the historic city of New Westminster. There are several paid parking lots very close to the River Market.

New West Craft Holiday Night Market

The New West Craft Holiday Night Market has run in past years with as many as 50 vendors. It is typically an annual event that operates from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm on a Saturday in December at the River Market, with free admission.

Similar to the Holiday Markets, the Night Market typically features live music and a wide selection of interesting, handmade artisan products. For 2025, no Holiday Night Market date is scheduled yet. Check the official Arts New West events page for updates.
