Made in the 604 Markets are pop-up artisan markets that take place at Heritage Hall in Vancouver and at the Pipe Shop in North Vancouver’s Shipyards District.

In the spring of 2024, the markets run at Heritage Hall on March 9th and 10th, and again on April 21st. As always, the markets feature artisan vendors and small local businesses. They are great events and admission is free!

Made in the 604 Markets in Vancouver

Made in the 604 began in 2017 as both a market and a place of connection for local businesses. The website’s blog shines a spotlight on a variety of entrepreneurs and organizations in Metro Vancouver, but the biggest part of Made in the 604 are the regular pop-up markets.

There are normally two markets that run semi-regularly from around late March or early April until late November or mid-December. One is on Vancouver’s Main Street at Heritage Hall and the other is in the Shipyards District in North Vancouver. In 2023, the market also took place at the North Shore’s Pipe Shop location every Friday from early July until mid-September as part of the Shipyards Night Market.

The markets usually have dozens of vendors that are local, small business owners and artisans. No admission fee is needed to browse the markets and there are plenty of different products to admire. You’ll find all kinds of unique and wonderful things to buy! And if you’re lucky, you might get some tasty food samples too!

604 Market at the Pipe Shop — Market at North Vancouver’s Pipe Shop

Locations and Schedule

The original Made in the 604 Market location is Vancouver’s Heritage Hall. The venue is in the Mount Pleasant neighbourhood at 3102 Main Street. After this first market proved successful, a second, larger market began at The Pipe Shop in North Vancouver. The Pipe Shop is located at 115 Victory Ship Way.

In 2024 the markets happen at Heritage Hall on March 9th & 10th, April 21st, June 23rd, July 20th & 23rd, and August 18th. As of late February, dates for later in the year and at the Pipe Shop in North Vancouver are to be determined.

In the fall of 2023, Made in the 604 Markets took place on September 30th, October 1st and November 18th and 19th in North Vancouver’s Shipyards District. They also happened on October 8th, 21st and 22nd as well as on November 4th and 5th at Heritage Hall in Vancouver. In addition, there were Christmas-themed markets on December 2nd and 3rd at the North Vancouver location and on December 16th and 17th at the Vancouver location. Dates and locations in the fall of 2024 will likely be similar, but with exact details to be confirmed.

The markets at Heritage Hall in Vancouver run from 11:00 am until 5:00 pm each day. The hours of operation at the Pipe Shop in North Vancouver are usually similar.

What to Expect

There isn’t a set lineup of vendors who are at every market, so the composition of the markets changes each time. Some vendors are regulars, but many are not. The Heritage Hall market usually has around 40 to 50 vendors. The Pipe Shop market is bigger. At it you can expect as many as 70 or so vendors depending on the day.

The vendors are all local businesses with a range of different products. They sell clothes, ceramics, skincare products, food, pet care items and more. Both venues are dog-friendly, which is nice, so you can expect to see the occasional four-legged customer while browsing the markets.
