Park Royal Shopping Centre is a large, modern and fairly upper-scale mall located along Marine Drive in West Vancouver, not far from Ambleside.
The other main mall on Vancouver’s North Shore is Capilano Mall. It’s smaller and older than Park Royal, but it’s also home to the North Shore Bike Park which is the largest indoor bike park in Western Canada!
Park Royal is also one of the sites of the Cruise the Shore car show in late August or early September. The event showcases over a hundred vintage cars and raises money for a different organization each year.

Park Royal Mall in West Vancouver
Originally built around 1950, Park Royal today is one of British Columbia’s largest shopping centres with over 200 stores and close to 1.5 million square feet of space. The land on which the mall sits is rented and the lot belongs to the local Squamish First Nation.
Where is Park Royal?
The Park Royal Shopping Centre is located along the 700 and 800 blocks of Marine Drive in West Vancouver.
If you’re coming from Vancouver, take the Lions Gate Bridge. Keep left and head west along Marine Drive into West Vancouver. You’ll see the mall on both sides of the main road. Park Royal is a two-part shopping mall. There is Park Royal North on one side of the main road and Park Royal South on the other side of the road. The mall stretches all the way from Taylor Way to the edge of Ambleside Park.
About Park Royal Mall
Park Royal is one of, if not the oldest indoor shopping malls in Canada. You wouldn’t know that by looking at the place, though, as it has been renovated over the years, with a major one that happened recently.
Park Royal North is on the north side of Marine Drive and includes stores like Hudson’s Bay, London Drugs and the Gap. Park Royal South is the massive facility on the other side of the main road. That’s where you’ll find stores like Staples, Best Buy, Simons, Zara, H&M, Winners, Sport Chek and Osaka Supermarket. The south is where you’ll also find the Cactus Club and Keg restaurants.
In addition to the two completely separate north and south indoor sections of the mall, Park Royal also has an outdoor strip mall-style area that’s designed like a cute little village. Park Royal Village includes boutique shops like Aritzia, as well as major chain stores like Arc’teryx, Michael’s (for crafts), Home Depot, the organic food supermarket chain, Whole Foods, and Old Navy. There is even a Tesla car dealership too.
Park Royal Store Hours
As of early 2025, the mall opens at 10:00 am every day. The time that it closes varies, however. On Sundays the mall closes at 6:00 pm, on Thursdays and Fridays it closes at 9:00 pm, on Saturdays it closes at 8:00 pm and the rest of the week it closes at 7:00 pm. Individual stores within the mall may have different hours.
Mall Restaurants
In addition to its food court, Park Royal is home to a number of restaurants. The Village Tap House is a popular pub. There is also a Cactus Club, Keg Steakhouse, and Milestones, among others.
