The Pride celebrations in Surrey are somewhat smaller scale but there are still a number of events that take place over the course of the month of June.

Pride Celebrations in Surrey

June is Pride Month and cities across the country hold special events and celebrations over the course of the month. Surrey is no different, with the main Surrey Pride Festival happening on June 22nd, 2024. You can expect to see plenty of performers in drag as well as local bands on stage. It’s a free event and open to everyone.

Along with the main festival there are other related events that take place during June. In previous years they included drag queen bingo, online history panels, high teas, bowling nights and more. Details for 2024 are TBC.

The 2024 Surrey Pride Festival takes place on June 22nd in Surrey Civic Plaza. It’s outside Surrey City Hall at 13450 104th Avenue in Surrey. The event is free to attend. Additional details are to be confirmed.

The 2023 event took place from 3:30 to 9:30 pm. It featured lots of live entertainment. Performers at the event last year included Emerald Fire, Foxy Cleopatra, ARRIVAL Canada, Westcoast Harmony and more.

Other Pride Events in Previous Years

There are normally other events and activities to take part in over the month of June as well. They are not all run by the Surrey Pride organization but they are all featured events that can put you in the Pride spirit. Below is what took place in 2022. The schedule of 2024 events is to be confirmed.

June 3rd, 2022 – online viewing of the film Emergence by Sher Vancouver
June 7th to September 1st, 2022 – the Show and Share exhibit, which showcases the history of LGBTQ+ activism in the area, is on display at the Museum of Surrey
June 9th, 2022 – Uniti for All fashion show (private event)
June 9th, 2022 – Surrey Archives online panel on LGBTQ+ history in Surrey
June 14th, 2022 – EPAMA/Surrey Pride Bowling Night at Dell Lanes
June 17th, 2022 – Pride Youth Dance at the Chuck Bailey Recreation Centre
June 18th, 2022 – Surrey Civic Centre Aequitas Singers Concert
June 22nd, 2022 – Pride Drag Queen Bingo (with cash prizes) at Central City Taphouse and Kitchen
June 26th, 2022 – Fraser Valley Bandits Pride Basketball Game at the Langley Events Centre
