Hologram Zoo Vancouver

Hologram Zoo Sea Creatures Experience

Hologram Zoo Vancouver is an indoor attraction near BC Place where visitors walk through projected worlds featuring animals, dinosaurs and other themes.

The place is like a museum, but instead of regular, static museum exhibits, you go on a semi-self-guided tour where you see moving, 3D, holographic images. It’s cool to see! It’s kind of part movie, part museum, all fascinating and fairly high-tech.

Visit the Hologram Zoo Vancouver‘s website for full details about the tours, or go to the attraction’s Ticket Page to book your experience.

TIP: Use the promo code BESTPLACES15 and you’ll save 15% on admission when you buy your tickets online. (This offer is valid until December 31st, 2026.)

HOLOGRAM ZOO AT HALLOWEEN!

In October the attraction has a special Halloween-themed tour where you’ll encounter witches, werewolves, zombies, spiders, scary clowns, and monsters. It’s very kid-friendly (for children ages 8+). They have an extra scary version on select nights for visitors ages 17+ too. On October 31st, between noon and 5:00 pm, they also have a Halloween Party with complimentary face painting, balloon animals and cake for guests doing any of their tours that day.

Vancouver’s New Hologram Museum

Located on Smithe Street in downtown Vancouver, the Hologram Zoo is one of the Lower Mainland’s newest and most modern and high-tech attractions. The experience combines 3D imagery with changing environments for an outing that families can enjoy in any weather (because it’s all indoors).

The attraction offers a rotating selection of shows. As of October 2026, choices include Dinosaurs, Asia, Underwater and a limited-time Halloween Experience, with Africa and Space themes scheduled to arrive in November.

Where is the Hologram Zoo

Hologram Zoo Vancouver is located at 50 Smithe Street, near BC Place Stadium and across from the Parq Vancouver Hotel. Visitors can walk from either the Yaletown-Roundhouse or Stadium-Chinatown SkyTrain station. Several bus routes also stop nearby.

The attraction is fully indoors, making it useful to keep in mind when planning rainy day activities in Vancouver.

Visit the Hologram Zoo Vancouver‘s website for full details about the attraction.

How the Hologram Zoo Experience Works

The venue describes its holograms as images created using light and laser technology. Guests wear viewing glasses and walk through the projected environments, with images appearing around them.

A visit to the attraction involves moving through hallways over several laps as the scenery changes. The room feels different on each lap around the place. Although the physical venue is compact, the changing environments give the experience a greater sense of scale.

The walking portion of the experience lasts around 30 to 40 minutes. The pace is slow and comfortable. Visitors, however, should be prepared to spend all of the time on their feet. The venue advises allowing about 45 minutes overall.

The experience begins with a short, introductory video. A guide then takes you through your first lap of the tour. After that, you’re on your own for the next four or so laps through the place, with each round being different. At the end you can take photos of yourself in a jeep with your phone before heading to a fancy photo booth for a really fun experience!

Shows at Hologram Zoo Vancouver

The different themes give visitors a choice of what they want to explore. Animal experiences include Asia and Underwater, while Dinosaurs focuses on prehistoric creatures. The seasonal Halloween show in October brings in supernatural characters.

Asia, Underwater and Halloween are scheduled to finish on October 31st in 2026. Africa and Space begin on November 1st. Dinosaurs remains available for even longer. The changing program gives returning visitors a reason to try another theme.

Check the current shows before booking so you can choose the experience that interests you most.

Wildlife and Conservation

One of the Hologram Zoo’s aims is to help visitors learn about animals and natural environments without keeping animals in captivity. Its wildlife experiences use projected imagery to introduce children and adults to the animal world.

The venue also donates a portion of its proceeds each month to a wildlife or conservation charity. That gives its animal-themed shows a connection to conservation beyond what visitors see during the experience.

Halloween at Hologram Zoo

The Halloween Experience is a seasonal addition to the program. It happens in October. During our visit, we encountered witches, werewolves, pirates and sirens as the environments changed around us. The combination of familiar Halloween characters and mythological creatures made the show varied and visually engaging.

The venue recommends the Halloween show for visitors ages 8 and up because it includes jump scares, loud sounds and dark spaces. Families with younger children can consider one of the other themes. Overall, however, in our opinion, the Halloween Experience is very kid-friendly. It’s designed for children and their families, not serious fright seekers. That being said, the attraction does also have special Halloween 17+ Nights on select dates for adults wanting more serious scares.

Tickets and Planning Your Visit

Choose your show and time through the official booking page. Arrive about 10 minutes early. Admission includes a holographic souvenir and downloadable photos and videos from the venue’s green-screen photo booth.

For families, the main planning decisions are which theme to choose and whether everyone is comfortable with a walking experience. The Halloween show’s age recommendation is also worth checking before booking.
