The Parq Vancouver Hotel and Casino Resort
Located right next door to BC Place Stadium in downtown Vancouver, Parq Vancouver is a five-star hotel and casino complex. The hotel is also conveniently located within walking distance of Rogers Arena, Yaletown’s restaurant district and the False Creek Seawall. The hotel is the golden-brown building in the photo above.
The two hotels are Marriott properties. One is a JW Marriott and the other is part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection.
The address for the JW Marriott is 39 Smithe Street, and the DOUGLAS is at 45 Smithe Street. Both buildings are attached. The casino sprawls across two floors, and the Parq Vancouver is also home to eight restaurants and bars.
STAYING AT VANCOUVER HOTELS
Hotels are often used by people from out of town, but they also serve those who already live in Metro Vancouver! Going to a nice local hotel can be a fun getaway. For people visiting the city or booking a staycation, a great option is to use StayVancouverHotels.com.
The StayVancouverHotels website offers deals on over 36 hotels, including the JW Marriott and the DOUGLAS. Visit StayVancouverHotels.com for full details.
JW Marriott Parq Vancouver
The JW Marriott Parq Vancouver is the bigger of the two hotels with 329 rooms. Guests can choose between one king bed and two queen beds for the standard rooms. All of the suites have king beds, including the two most luxurious offerings. One is the Sky Suite, which has two bedrooms, and one is the Parq Villa, which has multiple floors.
Room prices begin at just over $300 per night during the off-peak season. Prices shoot up during the summer, with the cheapest rooms being around $500 a night.
The entry-level rooms are approximately 400 square feet. They come equipped with marble bathrooms, an office desk setup, and floor-to-ceiling windows. The TVs have access not just to cable but also to dedicated movie channels and Netflix.
The suites range from 600 to well over 1,000 square feet and may include additional features such as sofas and separate living and dining rooms. There are pet-friendly accommodations as well.

The DOUGLAS, Autograph Collection
With 188 rooms, the DOUGLAS is smaller than the JW Marriott, but it’s the more luxurious of the two properties (not that the JW isn’t luxurious as well). It’s an Autograph Collection hotel, which is one of Marriott International’s top brands. Each Autograph Collection hotel is unique and independently operated.
The types of rooms on offer are pretty similar to those at the JW Marriott, ranging from standard guest rooms to suites, and then to the three top-level luxury suites. The top-floor suites include fireplaces, exterior balconies and over 2,000 square feet of space.
Rooms at the DOUGLAS are furnished a little nicer than at the JW Marriott, making it one of the highest-quality experiences you can have at a hotel downtown. The prices aren’t much higher than its Parq counterpart, starting at around $350 during off-peak times and $550 during the summer, as of the last time we checked (though prices can vary widely). Dogs are welcome at the DOUGLAS as well.

Parq Vancouver Casino
The Parq Vancouver Casino is one of the biggest in Metro Vancouver. It has two floors of games, including hundreds of slot machines, 24/7 poker tables, and other tables such as blackjack, roulette, baccarat, and craps.
For those who want to splash some extra cash, there are designated high-roller lounges with private tables and other perks, including access to top rooms at the attached hotels.
Some of Metro Vancouver’s other casinos include the River Rock Casino in Richmond, Grand Villa Casino in Burnaby, and Great Canadian Casino in Coquitlam (the last of which used to be called the Hard Rock Casino).
Other Hotel Amenities
The 17th floor of the JW Marriott is the “wellness level”, which is home to the Spa by JW. In addition to its five spa treatment rooms, the floor is home to steam rooms, a high-end gym, a manicure and pedicure bar, and an aqua lounge with a hydrotherapy tub and yoga spaces.
The spa offers massages for both solo clients and couples. It also offers facials, body exfoliations, and a “mind sync” sound-therapy room. Massages and facials start at around $200 for an hour of treatment.
