Vancouver’s Paradox Hotel

Vancouver's Paradox Hotel

Located on West Georgia Street in the heart of downtown Vancouver, the Paradox Hotel is one of Vancouver’s most modern and luxurious hotels.

The Paradox Hotel

The Paradox Hotel is a luxurious hotel in downtown Vancouver. It has a four-star rating on the Forbes Travel Guide, which gives the claim of genuine and welcoming, home-away-from-home appeal a real foundation. The hotel offers three major upgrades in its apartments. The first, in line with the typical concept of a hotel, is a simple, if fancy, suite with a bedroom, bathroom and workspace with all the bells and whistles you could ask for. Splurging on the other two classes adds commodities like a balcony, free-standing bath, and upgrades to a full, sprawling suite.

This hotel used to be called the Trump Hotel. Consequently, as you can imagine, it’s a fancy place. The original licensers went bankrupt in 2020, leading to the gradual takedown of all Trump iconography over the course of the following couple of years. The hotel eventually reopened in 2022 under new management as the Paradox Vancouver. Today it is one of the city’s finest places to stay.

Paradox Hotels & Resorts has a number of properties in addition to the Paradox Vancouver. In the Asia Pacific region, there are Paradox hotels in Singapore, both Phuket and Bangkok in Thailand, Sydney in Australia and Kunshan in China. Under the same ownership but different brands, in British Columbia there are also the Aava and Summit Lodge hotels in Whistler.

Hyatt and Paradox Hotels

Where is the Hotel?

The Paradox Hotel is located at 1161 West Georgia Street in downtown Vancouver. It’s across the street from the Hyatt Vancouver Downtown Alberni (formerly the Shangri-La Vancouver). Together, the hotels are the two tallest buildings in the city. The Paradox Hotel is 60 storeys and 188 metres tall (or 617 feet). The Hyatt, meanwhile, is 62 storeys and just over 200 metres (or 659 feet) tall. From the ground you can’t tell which is taller. Both are enormous, beautiful inside and have luxury residential units in addition to their hotel accommodations.

Not far from the Paradox Hotel are Burrard Street, Granville Street and Robson Street, three of Vancouver’s most prominent and famous streets. There are numerous restaurants and high-end boutiques all around the area. Also not far from the hotel is the Vancouver Art Gallery. Waterfront Station, the Vancouver Convention Centre and Stanley Park are all just a short drive away.

Hotel Restaurants and Other Amenities

Within the hotel, there are a number of places that are accessible to both guests and local city-goers. These include the Mott 32 Vancouver restaurant, the Karma Lounge, and the Mansion Nightclub.

Mott 32 is one of the most acclaimed Chinese restaurants from around the world, not just Vancouver. It offers a blend of Chinese and North American atmosphere with tremendous views of the surrounding city. The Karma Lounge, meanwhile, offers a warm and inviting atmosphere for business meetings and high-end socializing for business professionals. The Mansion Nightclub is one of Western Canada’s top high-energy nightclubs.

Guests can enjoy the hotel’s indoor pool and outdoor hot tub as well as a fitness centre. Pets are welcome (at no extra cost). Guests can also get two hours of complimentary bike rentals. At the hotel there is also the Xylia Natural Spa.
