Oakridge Centre Mall

Oakridge Centre was a shopping mall in Vancouver. Since late 2020, most of the mall has been closed because of major redevelopment work.

The property reopens as Oakridge Park on May 28th, 2026. The new mall includes high-end retail stores and restaurants. The mall has about 650,000 square feet of shopping space and more than 100 brands.

OAKRIDGE MALL REDEVELOPMENT

Since September 2020, Oakridge Mall has been going through a major redevelopment.

The old shopping mall has been transformed into Oakridge Park. Oakridge Park is a “mixed-use community” with retail space, residential buildings, a community centre, and a large park. Before that, it was just a mall.

The development opens on May 28th 2026.

When it opens, Oakridge Park will be one of Vancouver’s most impressive shopping malls. It focuses on higher-end retail, with luxury fashion brands, popular Canadian stores, food options and lifestyle businesses.

New stores include luxury brands like Louis Vuitton, Prada, Rolex, and Versace. Some popular higher-end Canadian brands, like Aritzia, Lululemon, Arc’teryx, and Sporting Life, are also part of the mall. More stores are expected to be announced closer to opening.

This is not a traditional mall like the Pacific Centre in downtown Vancouver. It is designed as an upscale shopping destination. The mall is set to feature an outdoor public park, a rec centre, a library, a seniors’ centre, a performing arts venue, residential towers, and other amenities. It promises to be impressive.

Oakridge Centre Mall and Urban Development

Located in Vancouver, Oakridge Mall was once one of the most profitable malls in Canada. The place originally opened in 1959 as a Woodward’s department store, which later became Hudson’s Bay.

The mall has been under redevelopment since 2020. It reopens to the public as Oakridge Park in May 2026.

Oakridge Park combines shopping with dining, parks, and condos. The project is designed to feel more like a small neighbourhood than a traditional mall. Visitors can expect modern architecture, outdoor areas, walkways and a more upscale shopping experience.

Once fully open, Oakridge Park is expected to become one of Vancouver’s top luxury shopping and lifestyle destinations.

Oakridge Mall Details

Oakridge Centre is located at the intersection of West 41st Avenue and Cambie Street. Its address is 650 West 41st Avenue. The mall is less than a 5-minute drive from both VanDusen Botanical Garden and Queen Elizabeth Park.

Oakridge Park’s regular hours after opening on May 28th are from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm, Monday to Saturday, and from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm on Sundays.

Events at Oakridge Centre

Before the redevelopment, Oakridge Centre hosted a number of small events throughout the year. In past years, there was often a Santa Claus display at Christmas.

Around Chinese New Year Oakridge Centre was also sometimes one of the venues for Lunarfest activities. There was usually a display at the mall, plus occasional crafts or other family-friendly activities.

Oakridge Park is expected to host events after it opens in 2026.
