Pinoy Festival and Other Lower Mainland Filipino Events

The Pinoy Festival is one of a few major Filipino events in the Lower Mainland each year. Another similar festival is the Philippine Days Festival which usually takes place in Burnaby in July. New since 2024, there is also the Lapu Lapu Day Festival (which had a tragic finish last year). Years ago, there was also the Pinoy Fiesta which happened at Memorial South Park in Vancouver in August. The Pinoy Fiesta still happens. In 2025 it took place at John Hendry Park in Vancouver on August 31st.

The Philippine Days Festival used to claim to be “British Columbia’s biggest celebration of Philippine Arts and Cultural Heritage.” The Pinoy Fiesta, meanwhile, used to claim to be “the most awaited and biggest Filipino cultural event in Canada.” The Pinoy Festival, meanwhile, as of 2026, calls itself the “largest local Filipino Heritage Month Celebration in British Columbia.”

The above events are fairly big and draw large crowds of Vancouver Filipino residents. That’s not surprising given how many people of Filipino descent live in the Lower Mainland! The majority of British Columbia’s 170,000+ Filipino population, and around 20% of all Filipinos in Canada, live in Metro Vancouver!
