Vallea Lumina in Whistler
The Adventure Group (TAG) is the company behind the cool light-walk attraction Vallea Lumina. TAG also offers ziplining, all-terrain vehicle tours, white-water rafting, and ropes course adventures.
About the Vallea Lumina Light Walk
Vallea Lumina is located on Cougar Mountain just past Whistler. The experience is a collaboration between TAG and Moment Factory, a Canadian production studio.
Visitors follow a one-way forest trail, guided by glowing markers and the mysterious tale of two travellers searching for a hidden, star-filled valley. The trail features interactive effects, gentle hills, and occasional staircases, with magical scenes unfolding as you wind through the Whistler forest.
Each season brings subtle changes in atmosphere and layout, making Vallea Lumina a worthwhile destination to revisit at different times of year.
The beginning is at TAG’s Basecamp, which is only a 10- to 15-minute drive from Whistler Village.

Vallea Lumina in Spring, Summer and Fall
The summer course at Vallea Lumina usually runs from May to early November. Exact dates for the 2026 season are yet to be confirmed.
This summer version of the experience usually covers 1.5 km of forest trails with gravel paths, moderate slopes, and several staircases. It takes approximately 45 to 60 minutes to complete and is suitable for most visitors. For most people, the experience isn’t too strenuous.
Start times in the past vary with sunset, ranging from as late as 10:00 pm in midsummer to as early as 8:00 pm in the fall. Last summer, tickets were approximately $49.99 per person for individuals aged 6 and above, while children aged 5 and under were admitted free of charge.
Due to the terrain, strollers are not permitted, and the experience is not very suitable for visitors with limited mobility. Comfortable, closed-toe footwear is recommended.

Vallea Lumina in Winter
The winter course opened on November 7th and continues through to April 2026. The 1-km illuminated trail winds through snow-dusted trees. There isn’t a set time for the experience, as you can walk at your own pace. In our experience, it usually takes about 30 to 45 minutes to complete, and guests can stay afterward to enjoy the fire pits and cafe.
Tickets start at $49.99 per person (ages 6 and older), with free entry for children aged 5 and under. The attraction runs in all weather, so dress warmly and bring a waterproof jacket rather than an umbrella. Umbrellas are not allowed since they can block other people’s views of the lights.
Guests can enjoy hot drinks and snacks around the Cougar Cafe firepits before or after their walk. Complimentary round-trip shuttles run from the Gateway Bus Loop in Whistler Village to Cougar Mountain Basecamp, departing every 15 minutes between 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm.
Parking is available on-site, but it fills up quickly, so reserving shuttle transportation is recommended.

Vallea Lumina Video
Below is a video with scenes of Vallea Lumina in the summer. As you’ll see, it’s very dark in places and the illuminations are really cool.
The video begins near the parking lot entrance. It then passes by the Superfly Ziplines starting platform, which is lit up but not operational at night. After that, you’ll see the Basecamp with a campfire area and a few buildings, including the snack bar.
There are quite a few stairs you have to climb, as the video shows. The path goes up and down the hill with signage along the way. There are scenes that follow a storyline, magical illuminations, and flashing lights in places.
The adventure ends at a second campfire area. The entire experience is magical, fun, and most enjoyable.
