Vancouver’s BrickCan LEGO Exhibition and Convention

Brickcan Lego Convention

The BrickCan LEGO Exhibition is BC’s biggest LEGO event. It brings together hundreds of LEGO aficionados who build their own designs and see what others make.

In 2025 the BrickCan LEGO Exhibition happened from April 11th to 13th. Unlike in previous years, this past year the event wasn’t open to the general public. It was only for Very Important Builders (VIBs). Also different from in the past, the event took place at the Sheraton Wall Centre in Vancouver instead of at the River Rock Casino in Richmond.

BrickCan LEGO Exhibition in Richmond

Hundreds of LEGO aficionados from all over the world come to the BrickCan LEGO event to showcase their creative designs. They are also on hand to engage with the public and fellow conference attendees and answer questions about their works of art. At the event there are usually a few never-before-seen LEGO models.

The exhibition part of the event is a multi-day affair. It’s a delight for fans of all ages who wander the exhibition hall marveling at the creative displays of LEGO models. Most years, the BrickCan Adult LEGO Fan Convention runs alongside the exhibition. Adult Fans of LEGO (or AFOLs, as they are affectionately known) launched the event, which is considered Canada’s largest LEGO fan convention.

People attending the non-AFOL exhibition part of the event can have fun building their own LEGO designs, learning from the LEGO masters themselves and shopping with vendors.

In the past, the exhibition on the weekend was a great event. It was popular with young families and their children, but also for adults.

It’s amazing how popular LEGO is with adults. LEGO is pretty cool and awesome, and it’s mind blowing what these LEGO artists can build! If you’ve never been to this event, and you like LEGO, you should go. This past year, however, the organizers required attendees to be VIBs, which meant paying an extra fee.

THE ROYAL CANADIAN CIRCUS

Each spring the Royal Canadian International Circus arrives in Metro Vancouver for a series of shows. In 2025 the fantastic circus performed at Guildford Town Centre in Surrey from May 8th to 11th, and at the Lansdowne Centre in Richmond from May 15th to 19th. The circus will likely return in 2026 at around the same time.

Visit royalcanadiancircus.ca for full details about the circus.

Ticket Price and Booking

A couple of years ago general admission tickets to the exhibition on the weekend were $16.50 per person, although children under the age of 3 were admitted for free.

In 2025 the event was a bit different. It was the 10th anniversary of BrickCan, and only VIBs got to celebrate the event. That meant there was no public exhibition of everything that was created at the event.

Anyone who registered to attend the event could become a VIB (i.e., Very Important Builder). Tickets cost $110 for the full three-day convention. Those who purchased their tickets before February 14th received a custom T-shirt and LEGO name bricks.

LEGO Event Location

The BrickCan LEGO event used to take place at the River Rock Casino at 8811 River Road in the north part of Richmond, just south of the Fraser River from the City of Vancouver. The 2025 event, however, happened at the Sheraton Wall Centre at 1000 Burrard Street in downtown Vancouver.

Note: Strollers and wagons aren’t usually permitted in the exhibit hall (in years when the public exhibition happens) because of space constraints. Wheelchairs, however, are allowed.
