West Coast Amusements at Lansdowne Centre

THE ROYAL CANADIAN CIRCUS AT LANSDOWNE

The Royal Canadian International Circus hosts shows in the Lower Mainland each spring. One of the venues it uses regularly is the Lansdowne Centre, and that was the case once again in 2025. The circus will likely be at the Richmond Mall as well as at Guildford Town Centre in Surrey again in 2026.

West Coast Amusements Carnival Rides in Richmond

West Coast Amusements is a travelling amusement ride carnival that stops at different cities across Western Canada. The midway operation is the largest of its kind in the country, with three separate units that serve more than 100 locations. The company is owned and operated by the Hauser family which has been entertaining people for four generations.

The outdoor carnival stops in Richmond most years during or close to Spring Break (but after the school holidays in 2026). West Coast Amusements usually sets up at Lansdowne Centre Mall, located at 5300 No. 3 Road. In 2026 the carnival is at the shopping centre from March 26th until April 12th.

As usual, this year’s carnival takes place in the mall’s parking lot and features lots of family-friendly fun. The event offers a large selection of rides that appeal to different ages. There are small rides for young kids, mid-range rides for families and more extreme rides for thrill-seeking people.

There are also midway games to play most years, similar to those available at the PNE Fair. You can typically expect to see ring toss, horse racing and balloon darts games. Traditional carnival-style food stands are on-site too. They sell things like shaved ice, mini donuts and other treats.

Admission Rates

You don’t have to pay to get into the carnival area at Lansdowne Centre. You do, though, have to pay for the rides and games you play. 2026 prices are to be confirmed.

Similar to previous years, tickets were available at the on-site box office in 2025. Each ride cost between three and six coupons per person, and coupons were available in different bundles. Single gold coupons cost $1.50. A book of 20 coupons cost $27 and a book of 40 coupons cost $48. There was also a special flyer available at the mall’s Guest Service desk. In it you could get six rides for $24.

For people who want to make the most out of the carnival, Wrist Band Passes were also available for $50 per person in 2025. Wristbands grant access to all of the carnival rides for any one day. However, games and food still cost extra.
