Coqutilam’s Forestridge Halloween Haunted House

Forestridge Haunted Yard in Coquitlam

Forestridge Haunted Yard is a free Halloween haunted house in Coquitlam. It’s impressive and raises money for charity. Check it out if you can.

Next door to Forestridge there there used to be Macs House of Horrors, which was also really good. Last year, however, was the final year for Macs. In 2025 there is just Forestridge.

In 2025 Forestridge Haunted Yard runs from October 1st to November 1st, with the lights on nightly from 6:00 to 10:00 pm. Live actors appear on Saturday, October 25th, and again on Halloween night (Friday, October 31st) for extra scares.

Admission is by donation, with all proceeds supporting Variety – the Children’s Charity of BC, which provides direct help to children with special needs across the province.

TIP: Another amazing haunted house that collects donations for charity is Alouette Cemetery in Maple Ridge. It’s an award-winning haunted attraction that’s only about a half-hour drive from the haunted houses in Coquitlam. Alouette Cemetery has won awards for the “best animated prop” and “best yard hunt” in the country in recent years by the Canadian Haunters Association. Either before or after visiting the Forestridge Haunted Yard, you should check out the place in Maple Ridge as well to double your fun!

Coquitlam Haunted Houses at Halloween

Coquitlam is a great place for haunted houses. In fact, two of the attractions are free to enjoy.

Forestridge Haunted Yard has been running for about 30 years, including for the past 20 years at the same location. Macs House of Horrors, on the other hand, ran for just a few years.

Forestridge Haunted Yard

Several haunted houses in the Lower Mainland are set up at people’s homes, with admission by donation. Forestridge is one of them, and it’s a great one.

Forestridge Haunted Yard’s address is 2988 Forestridge Place in North Coquitlam. It’s not far from Westwood Plateau Golf Course.

Forestridge is impressive. It’s also much more than just a “haunted yard.” The outside and front yard of the house are where you’ll find lots of skeletons, ghoulish statues and other Halloween displays. There are also small indoor areas to explore. There is a lot to see, and it is all very well put together.

If you’re in Coquitlam this October, Forestridge Haunted Yard is well worth a visit. In 2025, the display runs from October 1st to November 1st, with spooky lights on nightly from 6:00 to 10:00 pm. For an extra thrill, visit on October 25th or Halloween night when live monsters (actors) roam the yard.

All donations collected go directly to Variety – the Children’s Charity, helping children with special needs in BC. Last year, the Forestridge display helped raise more than $5,000 for Variety, and the organizers hope to surpass that total again in 2025.

Macs House of Horrors

Whereas Forestridge has been running for many years, Macs was relatively new. Now grown up, the kid who grew up next to Forestridge decided he wanted to go all out on his home, too. That’s why, until 2024, at the end of Forestridge Place, there was not one, but two great haunted houses to enjoy and explore.

Similar to Forestridge, Macs House of Horrors was extensive and really good. It too had lots of Halloween decorations outside as well as a fair bit indoors. At both places, the indoor areas were arranged somewhat like small mazes. There were a few rooms and corridors full of scary scenes and displays.

Now, a few years later, the boy next door to Forestridge has grown up and has a full-time job. Consequently, he can no longer spend the hundreds of hours needed to maintain Macs House of Horrors every year. 2024 was its final year.
