2026 is the year for soccer in Vancouver. In addition to the Whitecaps FC, Vancouver is one of many cities hosting this year’s FIFA World Cup. There are a couple of elimination games happening at BC Place Stadium in July.

If you like watching soccer, there are plenty of opportunities to do so in Vancouver. The city has a professional soccer team that plays over a dozen games each year at BC Place Stadium. Vancouver is also lucky enough to host games during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

 

Vancouver Whitecaps

The Vancouver Whitecaps are the city’s Major League Soccer team, which is the highest level league in North America. The season runs from March until October and games are played at BC Place Stadium. Each season normally features 34 games, half of which are played at home.

The Vancouver Whitecaps have official supporter groups for dedicated fans. Some groups gather for pre-game festivities at local establishments before occupying specific sections at BC Place. Ticket prices for single games typically start at about $30.

FIFA World Cups

The 2026 FIFA World Cup takes place in Canada, USA and Mexico. Vancouver hosts seven matches during this year’s tournament, including a Round of 32 game and a Round of 16 game.

In addition to attending matches at BC Place Stadium, fans can enjoy public viewings of games on big screens. The tournament runs from June 11th until July 19th. Events for fans take place at various locations in the Lower Mainland, including at the PNE and three different venues in Surrey. The events feature performances, live match broadcasts and other family-friendly activities to enjoy while supporting your country.

Vancouver was also one of six host cities of the 2015 Women’s FIFA World Cup. There were 9 games played at BC Place Stadium over the months of June and July, including the final match of the tournament.
