The Study and Go Abroad Fair is an event about post-secondary education. It features university exhibitors and seminars at the Vancouver Convention Centre.

The event is a university and college fair offering information about study opportunities in both Canada and abroad (but mostly abroad). In 2024 Study and Go Abroad/SchoolFinder Fairs visits Vancouver on Thursday, February 29th. Admission is free. You don’t have to register in advance, but they recommend you do (and if you do you’ll be entered in a draw to win up to $5000)!

Vancouver’s Study & Go Abroad Fair

Study and Go Abroad/SchoolFinder Fairs take place in various Canadian cities. In 2024 the fair visits Vancouver in February. There are also events in Montreal and Toronto in March.

The fair is mainly for prospective post-secondary students. Lots of parents go too. At the event there are representatives from universities and colleges from around the world, including Canada. Most of the exhibitors, however, are international. The event is for students looking for both undergraduate degrees and post-graduate degrees.

If you’re currently in high school or university and interested in furthering your education, and want to learn about options and opportunities, the fair is a great place to start! The event is also where you’ll find information about working abroad, including international internships and volunteering opportunities. You can meet and talk to people from different institutions, and there are also seminars covering various topics.

The Study and Go Abroad Fair is free to attend. Plus, guests who register online are automatically entered into the fair’s grand prize draws. This year, prizes include $5,000 and a free flight to any destination with Air Canada.

Fair Date and Location

In 2024 the Vancouver edition of the Study and Go Abroad Fair takes place on Thursday, February 29th. The event runs from 2:00 until 6:00 pm. That being said, the feature seminar on Scholarships starts at 1:00 pm (so one hour earlier).

The Study and Go Abroad Fair is held at the Vancouver Convention Centre. It happens in a ballroom inside the East Building at 999 Canada Place. The venue is a beautiful waterfront location in downtown Vancouver. The building is a short walk away from the SeaBus and SkyTrains at Waterfront Station. It’s also connected to the Coal Harbour Seawall, which is always a great place for walking and leisurely bike rides.

The 2024 Study and Go Abroad Fair features more than forty exhibitors. There are representatives from many of the world’s top universities and graduate schools. Some are located in Canada, while others are from countries such as Sweden, Italy, Japan, Germany, the Caribbean and other places.

Tips and Advice

The following suggestions are good to know before attending the Study and Go Abroad university and collage fair.

TIP #1: The event can be overwhelming with the amount of people and exhibitors. Think of any questions you have before you go. Write them down and take them with you. That way, you won’t forget to ask anything important.

TIP #2: When you arrive, be sure to grab a copy of the Fair Guide. It provides details about the various exhibitors.

TIP #3: If you already have your résumé, portfolio or transcripts ready, feel free to take them with you as well. You can show your documents to university representatives and maybe even get some advice.

TIP #4: Ask for the business cards and contact details of the representatives you meet. That way, if you think of more questions later, you can ask still ask them via e-mail.
