Indigenous Fashion Week in Vancouver

Vancouver Indigenous Fashion Week features a series of fashion shows and other events celebrating Indigenous artistry and identity. The event highlights how fashion can connect to Indigenous values, stories and traditions. The shows foster strength within communities and understanding between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples. Each year, designers, performers and creators from across Turtle Island come together to share their work and celebrate Indigenous values.

Where and When

In 2025 Vancouver Indigenous Fashion Week takes place from November 19th to 22nd at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Vancouver. The four-day event includes themed fashion showcases, cultural performances and a makers market. Each evening offers something unique, from traditional inspirations to contemporary streetwear and futuristic designs. Tickets can be purchased online in advance and seating is available for each show.

Tickets start at $35 for Indigenous attendees, artists and contract workers. Regular tickets are $50 while Supportive Tickets are $80 for settlers or those with the means to help make the event more accessible for others. All ticket levels contribute to supporting Indigenous artists and ensuring that VIFW remains a space of inclusion and community care.

What to Expect

This year’s event features over 30 Indigenous designers showcasing their latest collections across four themed nights: Opening Night Red Dress Event, All My Relations, Indigenous Futures, and Spirit of the West Coast. Each show combines fashion with drumming, song and dance to honour Indigenous heritage. Guests can enjoy live music, DJs and performances between runway shows, creating an immersive cultural experience.

This year the VIFW Makers Market returns with a diverse selection of Indigenous fashion and artwork. Visitors can meet the artists, explore handcrafted designs, and support local creators from across Turtle Island. The marketplace is a vibrant space to discover art pieces that reflect the beauty of Indigenous culture.

VIFW’s Wisdom Circle includes 12 Indigenous Elders and community leaders who guide the event to reflect Indigenous values and teachings. The circle ensures the show remains culturally grounded and uplifting for Indigenous voices both on and off the runway.
